All scratched up and Bruised, Could of Died, but if I’d lost My Ducati’s I Would have been Pissed!

(Picture Note: The scratches have got worse by the night and there are a couple others but my app only allowed for 5 pics).

Our manager wanted to do something nice and fun for us “Technical” team while some of our out of town employees were visiting this week. He threw some ideas out there and we all agreed to shoot the hooch was our choice for a workday outing. Nothing beats a day not in front of a computer screen, answering dumb questions all day, dealing with stupid work bitching, griping and banter and pushing busy work.

All started out swimmingly. We had lunch, caught up and it was a beautiful day.  We get on the river and I’m soakin in the sun, relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous scenery on this peaceful river. Thinking why don’t I do this more often, the water felt great and this is my city. We have this in my city and why am I not taking advantage of this!?

There were about 11 of us on the trip and we were all linked up together. More than half way through our course we hit a rock…this wasn’t abnormal for there’s a lot of rocks in the Chattahoochee River and we went over many of them. This one however was different. I got stuck on the rock when everyone else kept moving forward making my tube to go up in the air dunking me in the water. This whole time I’m thinking, “oh shit where are my sunglasses”. I’m thinking I lost my sunglasses not worrying about how embarrassing this was and how I lost one of my flip-flops. The left side of my team immediately broke off from my tube where the right side stayed with me, one of them grabbing my shoe and making sure I was all right. “Yeah I’m alright, but where are my glasses!?”. Thank God they got caught it between two rocks and I found them. Close call. As well I was soaking wet for the entire drive home. Fun none the less and I’m not sorry any of it happened. Had I lost my oakleys I’d be singing a different tune TRUST in THAT!

I didn't realize it until I got home my back was in some pain. Come to look at it, I've got some gashes back there. The day has provided more of these wounds, on my legs and elbows. After thought, I could of seriously gotten injured! The river doesn’t seem so peaceful and calm anymore.
