We Can Do Hard Things

I’m feeling kind of ornery today. Thinking about Garrett, whom I’ve had two dreams about the pasted two nights in a row. The first I greeted him with hugs and kisses, knowing in the dream that I was to wake up and he’d be gone. He smiled and hugged back. I woke up without feeling scared, I felt good that I got to see him again. The second he was with a crowd of people, knowing he wasn’t alive but acting as if he didn’t know he was and we were to treat him as if he were alive. I asked a friend why we were pretending, he knew he was dead. Still I got to see him again and this time he looked more like Garrett. Thank you for visiting I miss you like crazy! Maybe I’m becoming less mad at you.

Today was our Christmas lunch at work. I can barely produce a smile. Maybe it's just the company. Or maybe I’m tired. Or maybe I’m finally winding down and just plain tired from all the Christmas festivities and shopping. It does take a lot out of me. By the end of the lunch, FINALLY someone sat next to me, I was more able to smile and converse with people. I did bring my pie up to my desk though. It was cherry and it was cold. Why was the pie cold? It isn’t good cold.

Anyways, back to work. I hope I can snap out of this funk I have a long week ahead of me.

Happy Holidays!

My Journey's: Dating Has Become Like Kickball…

Seriously! I love my kickball team with a passion, but like kickball dating has turned to once a week, fun while we’re doing it, but at the end unmemorable.

I met okc “H” for trivia and had a really good time. Stayed out way passed my bedtime on a school night (work night), had some really good conversation and promised a second date. A second date did ensue. Typical movie night with some popcorn and milk duds (not my pick). He said tom cruise was his all time favorite actor. I liked him this guy, but my viewpoints on tom cruise: crazy, douche, bag, actor. Why tom cruise? We talked for a while in the parking lot until it was cut short because I had to hurry home to let my sister in the house. He seemed busier than I’d like to date because he has a son and some baby mama drama. So the end for now.

Again I’d sworn off dating because of the above-mentioned disappointment. But per usual I find another date all to quickly.

I met okc “M” at a supposed “secret” spot below a Taco Mac. It sounds naughty and creepy, but trust it was not. It was very nice and cozy. First glance he’s cuter than I thought he’d be, so I’m pleasantly pleased. We sit down and go through the menu, which is on an Ipad. Nothing like Miller Lite served here folks, so I’m screwed! All the beer was expensive and high quality. I had to take it easy on the sips if I didn’t want to get wasted and drive home. We’re sitting we’re chatting things are going ok, he’s a total nerd so we’re talking about Star Trek, Dragon Con and Dr. Who, when the waitress comes up and says, “We’re trying out this new beer, if you taste it and like it you can keep it”. I’m thinking if I don’t like it are you going to take it back? I mean it’s in a full glass and typically taste testers are in a small glass. I taste it, my date tastes it and we give our opinion on it, we all know I’m no beer coinsure, the waitress leaves and we continue on with our conversation on what he went to Dragon Con as this year, and last year…

The waitress comes back about 20 minutes later and tells me, “Truth is someone sent you that drink earlier and now he wants you to have this Baby Guinness”. Oh shit! Someone is sending me drinks as I’m on a date. The bar is close to empty so I’m scanning the place to see who could be the culprit. Fat guy at bar…don’t know. I do know that the waitress has been “sworn to secrecy”. So I take a sip of the baby guinness and continue on with my date. 20 minutes later the waitress is back, saying this “fellow” wants to know what my favorite of the two was so he can send me another. I haven’t even put a dent in the two drinks he’s sent me, let alone mine because I’m a huge lightweight and these are high gravity drinks! I tell her it’s way too much alcohol but I preferred the baby Guinness to the beer, but quite honestly if he wants to send me something I’ll drink to send me a Shirley temple. She comes back with another baby guinness and a Shirley temple, which I drank in it’s entirety.

My date and I laugh a little about this and I tell him I think it’s rude of the mystery fellow, but the waitress tells him he has nothing to worry about. Um…how would you know girlfriend, you don’t know him or me. The date ended nicely and we said we’d be in touch, which we have. Still my feelings toward him aren’t intimate because I think we’re just too different.

Some have said I’m picky, and maybe I am, but I don’t want to settle for someone and risk unhappiness when I can actually be happier without. It’ll happen. * fingers crossed *

Inspiration for My Tattoo

Back in February when we lost one of our good friends there were a couple of songs that I got obsessed with. It’s like they came at the right time knowing exactly what I was going through and I needed that. One song in particular was “Beautiful Mess” by Jason Mraz. The verse that stuck out the most was this…

Through timeless words and priceless pictures
We'll fly like birds not of this earth

And tides they turn and hearts disfigure
But that's no concern when we're wounded together

So sets the inspiration for my next tattoo. I started my quest to finding the perfect feather with birds flying away from it. The idea is that the feather is “earth” or “us” and the “birds” are our friends that we’ve lost literally flying away. Taking a different path if you will. The verse speaks to me in so many different ways. “Through timeless words”, remembering certain things my friends said. “Priceless pictures”, there aren’t enough pictures of the ones gone, but the few we have are so priceless. The final verse pointing out that times were rough and changing, but the ones of us going through it had each other.

After my tattoo was finished, my sissy and I went to get some Sushi. I love sushi right now. I don’t listen to the radio much at all (never really) but I know that “Beautiful Mess” is not a mainstream song. The restaurant was loud and you could barely hear it, but as I listened closer I heard the verse that inspired my tattoo on the satellite radio. I had to fight back tears.  Sissy said it must have been meant to be.

Even though the one lost in February, which I still think about every day, was the inspiration for this tattoo I still have to acknowledge the many others gone as well. I have 4 birds. Each is special to me and I miss them all the same.

A Tale of a Jem Doll Meeting a Head

So, the story goes like this: When my sissy and I were little ones my grandfather got her a Jem doll with light up earrings. I was jealous so I broke the doll over her head.

There are tons of questions that have gone UN answered. Why did Tracy get a doll and not me? Was I a bad baby? Why would I break this doll over my sister’s head?

I think things aren’t, as they seem. I probably did get something just not a Jem doll. If I didn’t get anything I know my grandfather had a good reason for it. It’s not like I never got anything. I got plenty. Beside the point, these damn Jem dolls go for hundreds of dollars on ebay. Meaning even if I wanted to make it up to my sister and my grandfather I can’t because I’m not breaking the bank on an old ass doll!

More Messages from OKC

I know it wasn't but two posts ago that I shared some OKC messages, but my blog has been lacking and I've gotten some good ones. You know I've noticed if you change your picture on OKC the messages begin flowin in. I know that OKC puts an update out to all available mens home pages when girls update anything on their profile, but it's like you're almost fresh meat. Anyways, onto the messages...

Okc'er "A": Hi there, remember me? I just got back on here. I'd like to get to know you and see if there's a spark.
How have you been? Reply Woman!

My guess is I didn't reply to this guy the first time he sent me a message...Um why would I reply now ladoucher? Because you told me to? DELETE!

Okc'er "J": So I think I've perfected the standardized opening letter/message so it truly seems like I wrote in the spur of the moment, but the truth is I'm just a big phony just like most everyone else. So in turn I integrated the standardized introduction into my self summary, thus completing my profile with more than 1000 words...
I spent my teenage years touring the Northeast, playing with some decent hardcore bands, and basically causing trouble.
I am currently looking for other players in the Dawsonville area, but it is pretty dim here all the way around...
I'm a welder and I own my own company that I need to restructure and kind of re-open up here while I'm here, and I build really killer old cars. You're a very attractive young lady, and I'd like to know more about you... Later!

This guy has since deleted (or blocked) his profile. I probably didn't reply because he probably wasn't attractive (in my eyes). All in all I'm not to apposed to this message.

Okc'er "D": Hello. Just wish to inform you that I am in Iceland until 10 November on holiday. Have been here since the 18th. Loving it! Only wish I had a few thousand dollars with me so that I could make a trip completely around the island while stopping at MANY sites of interest. Maybe one day I will be able to do so. ;) At least I am here and am making some exursions and great memories, and for that I am thankful.
So I am writing to ask if you would like to meet for supper on the 11th or 12th before I return to Augusta? My phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. Of course I have no service here in Iceland but once I return to the states it shall be restored. Let me know if you are agreed. I will check here for a response in a few days. Hope all is well with you and yours. Keep healthy!

I did reply and asked him when he would be returning to Augusta...Either way Augusta isn't in my area I live in ATLANTA! So he responds nearly a month later...

Hello again. :) I have returned to Georgia this morning after a lengthy transit. Now it is time for much needed slumber. As mentioned before I would like very much to meet you for supper. I have given you my number so please call me tonight or tomorrow. My name is "D", btw. Looking forward...

At this point I'm beginning to think the messages are weird and maybe a false profile all together. Which is too bad because the guy's pictures are really nice. I didn't respond to the second message, but still get this the next day...

About to go to supper with "N" and his wife. Persian cuisine. Should be interesting! ;) I return to Augusta tomorrow eve and so if You wish to meet this time please contact me tonight or tomorrow. Hope all is well with you.

That's all for now. Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately. Haven't had anything really exciting happen, but I'll try to do better. Till next time...

Over are my 20’s

I've pretty much been telling people I was 30 since I turned 28. After a certain point I was pretty much 30 in my mind. However it finally happened this past Sunday. I turned 30. Had to say goodbye to my 20’s on a Sunday. A short recap of my birthday weekend…

Sushi with a friend on Friday night. I believe I am lucky enough to have the Sushi Yoshino minutes from my house, where they served the Manhattan Roll. The.Bomb.Ass.Sushi.Roll. Afterwards we headed next door to the local pub where my sissy works. A couple shots (one is too many for me) and beers and I was hammered. Good times had by all and we’re off to Saturday...

Saturday morning woke up way too early and felt like I could use some water and Tylenol. Didn’t get a nap. My beffy came over around 3 we ate and picked up my sissy, then headed to the Little 5 Points Parade. It was fun. Saw some super cool costumes and floats. The place was packed and crowds make me nervous, but it was a hella good place for people watching. Headed back to the house with some pizza to carve pumpkins. Per usual we complained of gutting pumpkins and sore hands. In the end our little guys came out looking amazing. Sunday…

A good old friend woke me with a happy birthday text around 1am, which is my actual birth time. My phone continued to ring off the hook from friends and facebook notifications of birthday wishes. Locked myself out of the house, ran some errands, nap and then off to the Rents for bday dinner. Our bday dinner was vegetable soup, my sister’s favorite. Got some money, that will be going towards my car tag (kind of sad that my bday money is going to actual grown up stuff), a basket full of goodies (etch sketch, gummy bears and pop rocks), some GA tickets from the grandparents, and make up (to cover my old age).

It was a great birthday and I couldn’t ask for more. My family and friends rock for making it special. So, I’m off to my 30’s.

Messages from the Darkside of OKC

I thought it would be fun to blog some of the odd/funny/WTF was he thinking messages I've gotten on OKC. Hope you enjoy them. Odds are I didn't.

Okc'er "S": You think you can just waltz up onto my page, creep on my pics, read my about me (totally agree with it), and then just leave without a trace?

I got eyes on you missy, you owe me a "hello message" which Iexpect in my inbox. I want it in 12pt. font, single spaced, with a good thesis to start

think you can handle that?

I did not reply to this message. First off he wasn't attractive. Two I just wasn't feeling his "humor" that day.

Okc'er "M": tlsavage, i'm "m", how's it going? you know what they say about clumsy and funny dorks, right? they can hit some mean notes in a karaoke bar. :-) what are some of your go-to songs? well, enjoyed reading your profile today! keep up the good work!

I don't know about you but, it really bothers me when people don't capitalize names. In school we learned this showed lack of respect. (Side note: when I don't like someone or am mad at someone I don't capitalize their name when writing it). This guy didn't capitalize his OWN name when writing me! So, I didn't respect him enough to message him back.

Okc'er "A": OH SAHWTY! WANTA GO ON A DATE?

HAHAHA! This one was actually funny. When I read this I was like, "OH hell no he didn't", but I realized when I visited his profile that this is actually a friend of mine.

So, that's all I have for now in the inbox.

What is With People?

I don’t understand why there are always dirty dishes in the sink at work. Do these people think that someone is going to do their dishes for them? Work is not your home people! I have to deal with this enough at my place due to my sister not knowing how to clean off a dish and place it in the dishwasher after use. Yeah sissy YOU. It’s disgusting, smelly and causes bugs. Lately I've been helping her out because, see I like to live in a clean place, and because I know she works a lot. Still we're all adults here. Cleaning off your dishes should be your task not mine. I thank you not to leave it up to me *smiles*

Why wait till later when you can do it now and there’s less to do. At work this is unacceptable. Certain someones use the last paper towel and don’t replace it, use the last spoon and don’t fill the drawer, drink the last cup of coffee and not only do you not make a new pot you leave the empty pot on the burner. Um hello! Come on people! Is it really that hard to do? I don’t find it at all difficult.

My Journey’s: Nearing 30

As I’m nearing 30 I was thinking back to the last couple years and my journeys of online dating. A dear old friend texted me this afternoon and I remembered that he made a special appearance to my 28th bday celebration when not many people did. This brings me to another story...

I don’t remember this guy’s name, but I remember that he was from Match.com and wasn’t all that bad. See, while I was turning 28 I was seeing someone. It was off and on, hot and cold for well over 6 months. I liked him, he didn’t like me, he liked me, and I didn’t like him. We were rarely ever on the same page. Particularly during my birthday I liked him and wanted him around for my day. He “had plans” and couldn’t make it. I was totally bummed out. Still I motored on and with my besty and sissy’s in tow went to a haunted house then up to the Derby. I had gone out on a date with said Match.com guy a couple nights before to get my mind off the guy I was seeing, who was paying me no mind. He was cute, had a good job, funny, dressed nice, all around nice to hang out with.

So, we’re at the Derby and for some reason Match.com guy meets me up there on my bday. Which is super sweet considering he didn’t know my friends, let alone me, and he came out to see me at the DIRTY Derby on my bday. Long story short, I ended up ignoring him and of course never heard from him again. I deserved it because that was totally my bad. You know I’ll never know but it could have worked out between us. I stopped seeing the guy I was dating shortly after, because it wasn’t going anywhere and I was just over it.

Last year, as I’m turning 29, I was seeing okc “J”. I really liked this guy. Everything seemed to be falling into place for me. It was nearing October, so fall was in the air, Halloween was beckoning and of course my bday.  Our first date was nice. We met at the Mad I. Admittedly he said the place looked shady, but I think he liked it. After that we took ourselves up to the local pub to finish off the night with a couple beers. He liked me enough to ask me out on a couple more dates. Eventually I noticed he wasn’t communicating with me as much as he use to. In the end he didn’t feel I was forward enough and he said it didn’t seem like I liked him. I guess I was a bit freaked out by the idea of actually liking someone and didn't know how to act, so I reacted by being stand offish and shy. Which is so not me. So, we stopped seeing each other. Bummers.

This year I’m turning 30. As of yet I’m not seeing anyone and don’t have any plans to be. Either way I’m determined to have a great birthday! Hopefully I'll have an action packed October with haunted houses, parties and good spirits.  As Joe Dirt would say, "keep on, keepin' on.”.

All I Want for Halloween is A Decent Flick

In my quest to find some Horror movies to record on my DVR for the upcoming season, I came across Altitude. Straight from IMDB “After a mysterious malfunction sends their small plane climbing out of control, a rookie pilot and her four teenage friends find themselves trapped in a deadly showdown with a supernatural force.”

First off, what in the world is a “rookie pilot” doing taking 4 of her “teenage” friends in a plane anywhere without adult or qualified supervision? She’s a rookie first off and a teenager second! This to me is so wrong and ridiculous. Disaster is sure to ensue. Second, as most films these days the acting is horrible. It’s like the actors/actresses are too busy trying to stay pretty instead of actually acting. Hollywood this is your fault. What happened to the good ol days, when Nancy looked like a real human being? People in real life don’t look like this. So they’re pretty, but they can’t act for shit! On top of that there’s the token asshole character that everyone wonders why they’re friends with him. He was so unnecessarily mean and horrible I wanted to turn the channel every time he opened his mouth. I was actually against the lead character instead of for her. Third, I could barely keep myself awake. I actually did fall asleep so I have to go home and finish this piece of shit tonight. I can’t start a movie and not finish it.

DirecTV I want Jason. The first one not that crap that started after the second. I want Freddy. I want Halloween. I can even deal with Rob Zombie’s version. How bout Night of the Living Dead or Fright Night. Is it too much to ask for some good Horror flicks this holiday season? There is nothing wrong with a bad horror flick, but this one was just awful.

My Journeys: The One Who Was Alright

I went out on a date last night. He said all the right things, kept saying I was beautiful (almost annoying), rode a motorcycle, was in my age group…But still I woke up this morning and decided I wasn’t interested.

He said he was amazed I found him on LinkedIn. This is after he gave me his full name and told me to search for him on facebook. Well I didn’t stop there, as I do, I googled him to see what I could find. Dude, you’re an IT Engineer, you type in a name and hit enter BOOM you popped up. That’s how I found you on LinkedIn. He took me to the Brick Store Pub and we stole glasses together. He walked me to my car and when I asked what he drove he told me a Mazda3 and that he didn't like it. He compared them to Hondas (I hate Hondas). When we arrived at my car and he saw I drove a Mazda3 he said that was awesome, mine was different and better than his. He wanted a fist pump. His is a 2010 mine is a 2007. We talked a little bit about the Troy Davis case. I was against the death, he was for it. I said he’s not hurting anyone in jail, he proved me wrong by tallying up how much we as tax payers are spending just to house him a year. It was a mature debate. He wants to have kids, me I gave up on that. Not to say if I was married I wouldn’t have one, but I wouldn’t try for one.

I think I’m holding out for that just right guy not the just alright guy. On the way to work this morning I saw a rainbow. In the middle of a trafficy highway and nasty wet roads, there was this beautiful rainbow. So, I know there’s a brighter date out there.

To my readers, I’ve been forced to make my blog private. That means you can only read it if you’re a follower. It was brought to my attention that OKC’ers google me and it comes up. I just don’t want someone finding it and reading about themselves. Then I’d feel bad.

Am I Some Kind of Online Expert?

I find my friends asking me for online dating advice. As well, I find myself giving out advice a lot. I guess being on the scene for over 2 years does make me some sort of a veteran.

I am more than happy to spill my advice and push you to do it when you’re on the fence. However, it only awakens me to the fact that I have been online for a while and still single. Which I’m completely fine with, I’m very happy in my life and where I am, it’s just been 2 years.

At this point I keep my profile posted for a couple reasons, 1) It’s FREE, so no damage is being done and 2) Anything can happen and I’m still hopeful. Still I check my profile less and less. It’s probably a bit out of date, but I can’t find the energy or will to update it.

I have come to the realization that there is no shame in online dating. I’ve been on dates where guys literally didn’t want to mention it. As well, it doesn’t matter what is written in your profile (for the most part). We go straight for the pictures first. Then we give a damn what they have to say. It’s a big pool of maybes. Maybe it’ll work, maybe I’ll like him, maybe he’ll like me but I won’t like him, maybe it’ll be the other way around, maybe this is a big waste of time or maybe I’ll find the one.

My advice to anyone thinking about it, just do it. There’s nothing that is holding you back but yourself. Are you scared of meeting someone new? Recently single? Getting out of your bubble? I was, but look at me now, I have about 50 dates under my belt and I’m still kickin, still hopeful, still online dating. It’s fun, it’s annoying and it’s up in the air. It’s possible.

My Journey’s: A Haunting Tale

This journey comes from an actual boyfriend I had some years ago. It’s been so long it’s hard to track when the last time it was I had an actual boyfriend. But I digress this was a boyfriend and it lasted a year. He would of married me but neither of us would have been happy. Moving on…

My boyfriend was taking me to his Grandparent’s house in Cleveland GA for reasons I can’t remember. Story is that this house is haunted. It’s been in the family for years and it has actually moved with the family. Literally picked up and moved to Cleveland GA when they wanted to move. It’s been added to through out the years and the new parts aren't haunted, allegedly. Anyways, I’ve been told a number of stories about this house, even before he and are were an item, so I was super excited to visit, as well as scared. So scared I didn’t even want to use the restroom.

My beau and I are sitting in an upstairs bedroom (turned office) with his father playing video games. His father is to my right, in the desk chair, and my beau is to my left sitting on the floor, as I am. The TV is placed on a desk with a couple drawers on it’s left (my right). I happened to be sitting in front of the drawers. All the sudden the middle drawer starts to open slowly RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE! I sat there and stared frozen. Kind of like this o_O And my boyfriend says, “What was that?” and his dad replies, “We all know what that was”.

It was creepy and exciting. So, don’t tell me ghosts don’t exist.  I do believe they do, not only because of this experience, but because it’s not so crazy to think that ghosts exist. Why wouldn’t they? We exist.

ExcedrinPM Safety Cap Issue?

From a friend at work...

Attn: Is this a safety issue?

Okay 2 nights ago I was taking some ExcedrinPM. I poured a glass of cola from a 2 litter bottle of Pepsi Cola.  I mistakenly put the Pepsi Cola cap on the supposedly "Child-Resistant" bottle of ExcedrinPM. The cap went on Perfectly!  I was shocked...  For amusement, I then put the ExcedrinPM cap on the 2 liter of Pepsi Cola and it made the Pepsi Cola bottle "Child-Resistant".

Image attached of the ExcedrinPM bottle w/ the Pepsi cola cap.  By the way, it appears that any type of a cola bottle cap will fit on an ExcedrinPM bottle and make it "Not Child Resistant"...

Please forward this to as many people as possible, "especially parents with kids..." Knowledge is Power!

Me thinks, and I know This Is Crazy, But…

I think my company bathroom is haunted! Not just once, but a couple of times, I’ve been in there and all the sudden my stall door will start moving back and forth. With force! And it makes loud bangs. No one will be in there but me and I’m not touching it.

Freaky!

One of My Moto's

Always leave the house looking at least half way decent.

It wasn’t until I ran into one of my fave rock stars looking a hot mess that I realized how important this moto is. Per normal, when I got home that day I went straight up to my room and got into my night clothes. At the time my night attire consists of a Les Paul shirt (that my ex boyfriend lost to me ;)) and some gray Winnie the Pooh shorts (that my mom gave me for Christmas as a joke). I’d had a case of the breakouts and put some acne medication on a couple spots and headed down to the couch to watch some tv.

I’d just had back surgery and the bandages I’d got were uncomfortable. It was around 10 when I decided I could take no more. I called my mom and told her I was in an uncomfortable state and was thinking about running to the CVS for some different bandages. She suggested I wait till the morning (she worries) but I went against my mom’s suggestion.

I get up, don’t even care to change, and head out to CVS. I go straight back, scan the choices, pick up a box of bandages and head to the check out. As I’m walking to the check out said rock star walks in CVS. Of course I have to chat with him, so we continue on a quick back and forth of casualties. All I can keep thinking is “oh damn I am not wearing a bra I look like shit this is so embarrassing”. After I check out I go to my car and look in the mirror. The acne medication I’d put on my face had dried to whiteness! I was mortified. I called my mom and told her she was right, I should of waited till the next day.

So, you see you should never leave the house without looking at least half way decent, because you never know who you’re going to run in to.

On a related not, I don’t even care today. I didn’t dry my hair and it’s up so, in my mind I look like shit. I was just so tired this morning. BUT bathroom girl said I look pretty today.

Reading a Book Taking a Dump, No Matter Why Aren't You Working?

Previously I've spoken of a co-worker who's always in the restroom. Today it's really annoying me. I went to the restroom this morning and she was in there. She quickly made her way out, only to pass me going back to the restroom, on my way back to my desk. As I passed her she said "going to try again"...UM WTF does that mean? If it means what I think it does then I could really care less. I thank you NOT to tell me that.

A couple hours later, because I've been so busy today I've held my urge to pee, I go to the accounting lady's office to run some postage FOR bathroom lady! I pass bathroom lady as I'm on my way to accounting's office. I can only assume she's on her way to the restroom. So, as I'm running her mail I chat with accounting lady for a bit about how this woman is erking my nerves always in the restroom. Apparently she just sits in there and reads a book! AGAIN does she have nothing to do at WORK where she can sit in the restroom and read a book? I don't have that luxury. I'm busy! And she is sitting pretty in a nice office.

When I was finished chatting with account lady, I was multi tasking running the mail, getting fedex envelopes for a bunch of fedex's I'm doing and I was going to run to the restroom. Don't get weird I don't take my mail or anything into the stall with me, that's gross. In the restroom I noticed bathroom girl in HER stall. Of course she was in there. In her stall with her, she had a bottle of water and a couple of small packages. I'm so annoyed today I wanted to throw something at her.

My Journey's: Some Are Just Insignificant

I had a couple of dates that were pretty insignificant. Okc "C" took me to a Zac Brown concert. We had floor seats. It actually wasn't bad. It wasn't all that fun either. The chemistry just wasn't there and my back started killing me (because I was on my feet for way too long) so we cut the concert short. Too bad, I'd liked to stay had it been with someone I could relax with. And if we'd had seats.

Then there was okc "B". We met at Grindhouse. The BEST hamburger I've ever had. And I'm really not one to go for hamburgers. The date was rather boring. I did most the talking and he just did a lot of staring. I tried so hard to make this date lively. They were even hosting trivia, which he opted not to play. So, I said, "well I guess we should go, if were not playing trivia what's the point in staying". He was really tall.

Then I met a guy on one of our opposing teams in kickball. Another "real boy". "Z". He started talking to me at the after party. We'd had quite a few games of flip cup (lots of drinking). He was pretty hammered. Still, he mustard up the ability to get my number and when he said he was going to call me the next day he actually did. To both of our surprise. We'd scheduled to meet at a Tin Lizzies, it was packed so we moved to the Ivy (coincidentally I'd been wanting to try). When he walked up I thought, "Oh shit he's one of those" in his khaki shorts, white button up and boat shoes. The date went on and it was nice. I found out he was younger than my baby brother, which is typically NOT my dating criteria. I know it shouldn't matter, but I don't think there was any chemistry anyways. There were no attemps of further communication afterward. My team however loved to give me shit about him every time we saw his team. I never saw him at another game though.

Today's Elevator Experience

Myself and another fellow get on at LL (that’s Lower Level). Two people get on at 1. Another person gets on at 4. 1 person from 1st floor gets off at 5. Person who got on at 4 gets off at 6. Other person who got on at 1 gets off at 10. Fellow I was initially on with gets off at 11. Tara gets off at 12.

The best part about this elevator experience is, when person got on at 4 and pressed 6, the person who got on at 1 to get off at 5 said to him “Are the stairs working yet”. HAHAHA! Sorry if that was confusing.

I've been doing A LOT of elevator riding lately. So the particular story above was just sitting in my "drafts". Last night's elevator experience was even more annoying. It's 5:00, time to get out of here. I get on the elevator, it stops at 10 and one person gets on. Easy enough, but then we continue to hit floors on the way down. UNTIL we get to floor 8 and I swear they we're playing "lets see how many people we can get on this elevator game". People would NOT stop piling in. I was thinking when is this going to end. Me being the FIRST person on the elevator was cramped in the back against a corner.

I hate elevators.

Is Facebook for Friend Finding, Networking or Online Dating?

It started off as finding old friends. Then networking. Now dating? I've been asked out, via facebook message, twice now. Both guys I'm friends with but can not remember them for the life of me. Since when has facebook been an online dating site? I mean as you all know I got nothing against dating sites, as I've been part of one for (a little) over 2 years now, but on facebook? I don't know if I can get behind this.

One guy I let down gently. Regrettably later, he just would not get the hint and now I have an inbox full of odd to creepy messages. Ignoring him doesn't even do the trick, he continues to write me. Against majority of my friends advice, I have yet to delete and block him. Facebook love finder #2, I haven't replied to yet. I'm contemplating whether or not I should just ignore the whole thing. I respect the balls this guy has for reaching out, but I just CAN NOT.

On another note, I think I have a date tomorrow night. Via okc, turns out we have a mutual friend and as you do I looked him up on fb. He seems alright so we'll see how it goes.

My Journey's: It Hasn't All Been for Nothing

There was okc "J" okc "A" and okc "RY". Those I actually liked and enjoyed hanging out with. What happened is unimportant, it just didn't happen. "RY" has been the only person I didn't put an "okcupid" in front of in my phone. "A" turned out to be not what I expected, but for a quick minute I liked him.

I also made at least one friend long the way. "T" was my first okc date. He took me to a super secret spot where you had to have a number to get in and you entered through an old time phone booth (Prohibition). Turned out it wasn't all that secret, but it was a good time. He went to bar tending school so he always knows a good drink. We still chat and get together from time to time. Last October we visited a creepy cemetery together. Thanks "T" for hiding behind trees to freak me out. Weird fact, his sister is married to one of my ex's best friends. Neither of us knew this until a couple months ago.

So, it really hasn't all been for nothing. Had some crazy stories. Met some interesting people. And made a friend or two along the way. Okc has been worth every last penny not spent on it.

Elevator Rendezvous: Part II

OMG you guys, today when I went down to get the mail, off the elevator, I ran into a very attractive man. A plus, he was holding a motorcycle helmet. Never mind that it was yellow (the most retched color of all colors).

Anyways, I got the mail and when I came back he was walking towards me. He asked for my number so he could take me out on a date!

Then I woke up and realized I was day dreaming.

My Journey's: If You Don't How Can Anyone Else?

This one was just sad in so many ways. For starters he winked at me. He was not in my filtered categories so a warning comes up to let me know. He is 25 and I tell okc that I'm not interested in anyone under 28. I shouldn't of responded but I guess I was suffering from the desper-ato's and he was cute looking.

"M" got my number and wouldn't stop texting me. I'd had previous plans the night that he wanted to hang out so I suggested he meet me at the bar. After thinking about it he finally agreed. Honestly I could of cared less. I was with friends, but he finally showed up as I was at the Juke box. He stole one of my songs. We sat down and chatted for a bit. He'd asked me if I'd checked him out on fb. I had, but I didn't tell him that. He asked me if I noticed anything about his pictures. I'm like no not really. Then he tells me he has a son. Which is totally fine, but I think that's something that should be brought up BEFORE you agree to a date. So, he goes on and on and on about how "it" was a mistake and he doesn't get along with baby mamma. Well good to know thanks "M". We played some pool and by this time I was a bit drinkie so I didn't mind too much that he was all over me. I was with my sister so when she was ready to go I went.

"M" really liked what he saw and wouldn't stop texting me. I'd come down with a bit of a common cold, so I wasn't able to do much. He was texting me asking me to come out to his neck of the woods (back ass of Roswell) for dinner. I said I couldn't because I was sick. He didn't care. If I couldn't go to him he wanted to come to me. To my place. And watch a movie. I wasn't into this idea. For one I was SICK! Two I just don't like the idea of dudes I don't know (nor care for) coming to my house. So, fine I agreed to go to (back ass) Roswell to meet him for dinner. After dinner he wanted to sit in the parking lot and chat, because he lives with mommy and daddy. Again one of those  and I really wasn't feeling all that good. I sat with him for a while on his truck. He kept trying to make out with me and I kept pushing him away. Eventually I did get out of there and didn't respond to any of his further texts or calls. I feel bad for ignoring him, but in the end he seemed like he didn't want his son and I thought that was sad. I don't want any baby mamma drama and he acted his age.

Wen for the Hair

Ever since last year’s football season my Uncle has been saying I need “Wen” for my hair. I had no idea what he was talking about. Wen? What is Wen? And why do I need it? Of course after my Uncle started giving me shit my dad starting giving me shit. As they do. Turns out my hair could see some better days.

I didn’t think much of this Wen product until last night when I was surfing my tv guide looking for something promising to watch. A Wen infomercial was on and I thought, “oh shit there really is a Wen”, so I watched it to see what it was all about. The infomercial made me what it of course.

Upon researching it more I came to the conclusion, that though I still wanted it, it’s a bit expensive. Plus who knows with these things you can only get online. The infomercial has the shampoo, a couple of hair products and a comb for $30. I don’t need all that crap, I just want the shampoo. Found some on Amazon along with different scents, for around $20. As well I found a cheaper knock off called Hair ONE. The reviews are good so I think I’ll try it at $11.

Thanks Uncle and Daddio, again, for being so brutally honest with me.

It Seems Facebook Has A New Post'ie

Today when I checked my fb I noticed a new post'ie on the right hand side. It said "Today in 2010 you said" and it is below...

"Dr. Toothy McTootherson said my mouth looks great. Then he told me I owed him $200."

It all came back to me. I remember that visit and I remember being in my car disgusted that I just paid $200 for what the Dentist said, a great looking mouth. Oh the price we pay for "great".

That is all.

Borrowing Shouldn't Be Called Borrowing If You Can't Bring It Back

Not only do I get the mail at work, I also send the mail. Put postage on it and such. There’s this one lady at work who rarely comes in but when she does she always has a crap load of foreign mail to send. She use to put them on my desk without sealing them first. So, I had to seal them. I told her it was easier if she sealed them herself because the machine doesn’t do it for her (and quite frankly neither do I).

It seems I’m the only person in the office with an envelope moistener. If you know me you know I hate to barrow out my things. Why? Because more than likely the person I’m letting “barrow” my stuff isn’t going to bring it back. Plus anything you could ever want is in the supply closet. Today this lady (seal em yourself) comes to me and asks me if I had an envelope moistener. I couldn’t lie because it’s in plain sight. So, of course I let her barrow it. That was 3 hours ago! I know that she’s going to come back around and give me her mail to send, but will she bring back my envelope moistener? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. My guess is no and I’ll have to go to her desk and get it myself.

My Journey's: The Guy Who Wouldn't Shut Up

Every time this guy wrote me a message, it was like a book. I should of known "C" liked to talk. He chose to meet at the Iberian Pig. I'd had a busy day the night of our date. I had a kickball game at 4 (I was playing for a different league and this league usually never started or ended on time) and then this date at 6. I was serialously rushed for time and got stuck in traffic.

As we were walking towards each other I noticed something about him. Something that usually doesn't attract my interest...He was short. An extra added bonus, his hair was thinning. The date must go on however, so we walked to the restaurant with some casual chat and were seated. "C" must of thought of himself as some sort of wine, beer and food connoisseur because he would not shut up about the menu. Every time our waiter, who was very nice buy the way, came by "C" found it necessary to discuss with him his thoughts for about 20 minutes. No shit. At one point he wanted to order a tonic, so instead of just ordering it he had to discuss this with our waiter first. Our waiter had great things to say about the drink, but "C" is picky. He ordered it and complained about it afterwards to the waiter. Well you drank it "C"! Regardless our waiter doesn't care about your thoughts on the drink. It's a number one selling drink there. He also felt it necessary to talk about the beer selection not being good enough considering the Brick Store was across the way.

Honestly I felt more like I was (and "C" was) on a date with the waiter. The guy just would not shut up. By the end of the, what seemed to be running on an on, date I'd had 2 glasses of very good wine, a bunch of food, and he'd had a glass of wine, (a disgusting) tonic, a beer and a (pink) martini. His favorite drink of the night? The martini. I wish that I had a picture of his face when he took that first sip. "Oh my god, oh my god, that is incredible". Please, it's a martini.

The date came to a close and I decided to let him drop me off at my car. It wasn't that far but he insisted. He'd also made me a beer. Yep he makes his own beer. Too bad I left it in his car. I was actually excited about it. Still bringing a gift on a first date is weird to me. It's like making someone a mixed tape you don't know. You don't know me. You don't know what I'm going to like. Don't try to guess. Chances are it's going in the waste basket.

After this date I went and met an old friend at my sisters bar. He brought his older brother and another friend. I enjoyed myself more with these guys. They're down country but at least they don't take themselves so seriously. Plus the friend he brought kept saying I was cute. It was freakishly too much, but it was still nice.

Name the Sicko's Corey!

Corey Feldman talks about pedos being the number one probem in Hollywood for child actors. I'm with my favorite blog'ist Michael K. here, name the sicko's Corey! If you keep playing the "not naming names" game then they'll never be exposed for what they really are (pedophiles are number one on my shit list. Disgusting creatures). Thus continuing to go unpunished.

Corey Haim is, and always will be, one of my heart throbs. I know he's seen better days, but still woulda "hit it" even after he went through hard times. It saddens me the world is without the Haim.

Come out with it Feldman. I want to know who you are always speaking of. You've continuously defended Michael Jackson on this. So, who is it?

One of My Pet Peeves

One of my biggest pet peeves at work is when people print things up and don’t come by to get them. One, why are you printing up something you don’t need? Two, why are you wasting all that paper?

Sometimes it’ll just be one or a couple of sheets, but sometimes (and this really gets me) whoever it is will print out pages upon pages. Like a book. Usually I’ll put the print outs to the side and hope that someone will come get them. This almost always never happens so, lately I’ve been tossing them in the recycle bin.

Get with the times people! You don’t have to print everything out. Save paper. Save the trees! If you don’t even care to come get your print out chances are you don’t need it printed out.

Getting Ready for the Season

Browsing through some Halloween Costumes today I came across this gem Slaughter House Survivor. Survivor? Bitch has a knife through her head!

My Journey's: Twofer It Was A Busy Couple Weeks for Me on Okc

I'd had it with not remembering these guys names (and dates) so decided to go back through my (detailed out) calendar to see if I could remember some. Turns out I had a very busy couple of weeks at the beginning of the year.

First comes "R". There's really nothing to this date. The only thing that really stands out is as I was waiting on him to arrive, I couldn't remember his name. I think this was because he just had a weird name. Luckily I took him to my spot, The Mad I (hehehe), and got my server to pull a sly move: ID him when he ordered a beer and then said his name out loud for me to hear.

Like I said the date wasn't that memorable. We sat at the bar and only had a few beers. It was pretty obvious from the beginning that neither one of us was into it. The only thing that I took from this date was, apparently there's a skate park near my house.

It wasn't a week after I met "R" that I met previously discussed "B" (who actually turns out to be a "C") who took me to Karaoke. I'll never feel the same about Karaoke after him. Not really but it wasn't my finest couple of hours.

The day after I met "B" (who is actually a "C") I met "J". We met at a coffee bar near his place. The reason it was near his place (not that I mind going out to them) is because he didn't drive. What is with these guys on okc that don't drive? He did ride a bicycle though. So, while he was cycling to the coffee bar I was driving to the coffee bar. The date was nice. He was really sweet and the conversation was just easy. We both loved Moral Oral. I don't meet a lot of people who like Moral Oral. He has a son. An adorable son that he, by all accounts seemed to be a good father to. I wasn't really into a relationship with him but still I agreed to a second date.

This time I picked him up at the Marta Station near my house. We went to the Mad I. I'm starting to realize a really annoying pattern here...He had no problem telling me repeatably that he was hung over. That's nice and that's all good because I am not into continuing this on any further anyways. Nice guy, but not my type. Plus I don't think I'm ready for the whole kid thing.

We kept up with the texts for a while, but tragedy struck and I had other things on my mind. Thus the end of "J". I did run into him in Little 5 while shopping with my sister a couple months later. He was with his son. I dipped out pretty quickly. I should of said hi. That was rude of me.
