March Sadness

I totally messed up my March Madness bracket this year. I did an auto “Random” pick and didn’t find out until after they were locked that I picked a 16 seed to win the entire championship. NEVER in history has this happen.

I was still hopeful. My boss was saying that there should be a warning that pops up when you’ve picked the WORST team to finish the whole thing at #1. It’s like Monster Plantation, I’m sorry Monster Mansion, we have to be “politically correct” here. Speaking of pc I was at my grandmother’s for Sunday dinner a couple weeks ago and my cousin and I were talking about being pc. Something came up and he asked, “well what is pc” I replied with “it’s politically correct”. As I’m thinking that I nailed it I realize everyone is looking at me like I’m crazy. Well he wasn’t asking what pc meant, he knows what it means, he was asking what was “pc” about the certain situation we were talking about. So I more like failed it not nailed it. Back to the story…At Monster “Mansion” you board a boat onward to a happy trip down Monster lane. Eventually you are warned by the Monster Sheriff telling you not to go that way. “No no don’t go down there” he says, but you go anyway (it’s a ride and you really have no choice). In the end you finish no harm back in happy Monster land. I felt like maybe my pick would be like this. Like sure I picked the worst team to win, but you never know in basketball and even though everyone told me I messed up I could still win it.

Guess again…My team lost yesterday in their first game. It was a good game though and they almost won. So I’m done. My bracket is torched. Usually I have some sort of passion about my bracket, but this year I didn’t have the patience to go over it before submitting. Maybe next year.

I just realized that my last two posts were about me messing something up. O_o Where is my head at?

They Will Get Us Anyway They Can

I swear it’s anything and everything people/companies can get money out of us they will do it. I purchased an application today, through my Iphone App Store, which did not work properly. I got the FREE version a couple weeks ago and thought I’d try it out and if I liked it I’d fork over the $0.99 for the actual app. I typically DO NOT spend money on apps. Now I will probably NEVER spend money on another app.

I took to google to figure out how to receive a refund for this app. Of course as most companies have made it, hard to find a contact NUMBER because heaven forbid we actually talk to someone about our issues. I found a couple sites explaining how to request a refund, but guess what…the directions I was following did NOT WORK!!! Itunes could not make it any easier for me. I finally found a number to call and he looks me up and tells me I’m not available for Phone Support…Come again? What do you mean I’m not available for Phone Support? Yeah I have to pay money to be able to call someone at apple and request his or her guidance. How much you ask? Only $69.99 a month. I think NOT!

All he could offer me for FREE was to go to apple.com and search for REFUND. After many different ways of searching for a refund on an application I came to an email address to request it. Hopefully I get the refund. Yeah it’s only $0.99 but dang, it’s my $0.99!

Salad Soup

So last night I really messed up, my sister in law sent me some home made soup home along with my grandmother’s Sunday dinner. With it she left a note telling me to add a cup of water and heat on the stove. I was late getting home on Sunday so decided this would be my dinner on Monday. Monday I arrive home and tore back the wrap covering the bowl of soup, then put it in a pan to heat on the stove. As I’m looking at the “soup” I think, “this is weird, but ok”. It had strawberries, nuts and what seemed to be spinach in it. Still I carry on with heating it up. I ate some of it thinking, “well Gypsy made it for me so even though it taste a little funny and what not I’m gonna eat it”.

Gypsy texts me a couple hours later telling me to add two cups of water because it’s too salty. I’m thinking, “I didn’t think it was salty enough I added some”. I tell her that one cup was enough for me and even though I didn’t like nuts I still ate it. I’ll let our texts tell the rest of the story…

G: Add two cups of water – waaay to salty.
M: I thought one was enough. I don’t like nuts, but I ate around and thought it was good.
G: No nuts in it???
M: Nuts, pecans whatever…?
G: In the soup?
M: Yeah…and strawberries.
G: Salad or soup? Knucklehead. Mimi made the salad.
M: What the hell! Did I warm up a salad? That shows how out of it I am in a kitchen. The note was on top of it I assumed O_o
G: Soup was in plastic container…Salad was in a bowl. Did you add water to salad?!
M: Yes…yes I did and ate it. I thought it was weird but ok.
G: I’m dying…I love you!
M: I’m dying too!!! That takes the cake on cinnamon chicken.
G: Hell yes it did…I can’t stop laughing. Thanks for the abs workout. Go eat some dinner now!!!
G: Oh man Tara. I love that you did that.

Yeah…I ate salad as a soup! I finally did find the soup and heated that up. She was right it was a bit salty.

I Wish to Live Inside A Songwriters Mind

Brendon Urie who can write a beautiful song about suicide. “You can’t fly these wings, You can’t sleep in this box with me”. Telling his girlfriend she can’t be where he is. Or Isaac Slade who wrote a song about running into God at the Corner of 5th and Amistad and having it out with him! During a time he felt heartache after heartache and was just angry.

I’d like to live and pick at their brains to see how they came up with these lyrics. I’m always listening to songs and hearing backgrounds that are hard to make out. Harmonies in the distance that are wonderfully arranged. This sends me to the web ways, googling “background lyrics”. Tell me how you come up with this stuff!

The Atlanta

I subscribed (for FREE) to the Atlantan via my Iphone and came across some adds that I liked enough to take a quick snap shot of.

First up are these glamorous rings. My fave are the two on the bottom right. Just simple and unique. I say YES YES YES!

Second up is an article with one of my fave characters, Dayrl played by Norman Reedus, from The Walking Dead filmed here in ATLANTA! Hints the article is in the Atlantan. Love him so again I say YES YES YES!

Dear Rude You’re Looking Rather Rude Today

A sales rep asked me if I had a staple remover today. I thought about it for a second. Should I say yes? Or should I lie and say no? Well this is why I usually lie and say no…

I decided, it being Thursday and me trying to be chipper, to say yes and let him use my staple remover. Shortly afterwards he was done using it and then asked to barrow my stapler. I let him use my stapler in my cube, but it was in another cube he “barrowed” my staple remover. I heard him leave the other cube and return to his desk. Did he return my staple remover?…NO! He left it in the other cube. So, I had to get up and retrieve it. Filing under RUDE!
