2012: Year in Review

One may ask can you put a year’s worth of events in one blog post? To that question I would answer, hells yes! The end of 2012 and the beginning of a New Year (assuming the mayans are wrong) is upon us and I can’t stop thinking about the past year and how I want to blog about it. Thank goodness I keep a log of everything I do on my calendar!

The year started off slow per usual. Typically after the holidays I get depressed, so what better way to cheer up then going to my brother and sister (in laws) and playing a game of Smart Ass? As well I never did get use to full work weeks after taking every Friday off in December.

My aunt and I took a Zumba class. I quite enjoyed it, but it was short lived (still looking to take another class Auntie).

I discovered that the band, The Quaildogs, I’d been blowing off were actually really good and now I’m a devout follower. Totes crushed on the lead singer and he started working at my kickball teams neighborhood bar! Talk about fate.

In February I started my quest to get baptized. With classes at night it was hard skipping Sunday dinners at the grandparents and I actually cried because I missed them, but at the end it was worth it.

I got a wisdom tooth taken out! Ick!

Still signing up for Kickball, still hot and cold about my team, still going to play in 2013.

At the end of March I started watching Bruce when my brother and sister (in law) went out of town.

In April The Daddy Daughter Trip continued on back to NOLA (without my older sissy, sads) for drinking at Pat O’s, walking the sketch smelly streets and SHOPPING! We stayed in a loft that was up 5 stories and had an attic as a bedroom, but it was right across the street from Brad and Angie so SCORE!

I was Baptized! I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but my grandparents, my Aunt, my sisters, mom and even my dad showed up for the event. Followed with lunch at Yeah Burger it was a blessed and happy day. And hello, I got GIFTS!

(Reading my calendar it seems I ate a lot of sushi and Ihop with my good friend Wes)

In June John hosted his first Murder Mystery Dinner. I was Bobby Sox (he will later host one for Halloween where I was Lizzie Bordeaux and looked rather sessy, if I do say so myself, thanks to a drear friend and coworker doing my make up).

After a short-lived hiatus, more OKC dates…

Went Tubing with coworkers. This is when I took a back flip tumble and scratched up my back to which I now have a scar.

More OKC dates…

This year the Family Vacation was also a Family Wedding with my Uncle doing the smartest thing he’s ever done and marrying his girlfriend Lori. Despite the fact that it rained most of our trip it was still beautiful. The beach is always beautiful because it’s the beach. Gypsy took off early to go to Italy, we missed her, but it was a great opportunity for her.

Wes took my sissy and I on our first nature walk to which we’re still saying we should do again. It’s nice to be able to wake up on a Sunday get coffee and bagels from Dunkin Donuts and take a nature walk. The world can be so glorious.

THE DARK NIGHT RISES special feature tickets!

Zentangle class with Auntie and I’m still Zentangling because I must admit I’m pretty damn good!

Sope Creek was another Wesley inspired Sunday outing.

TED!

And more OKC dates…

August I reconnected with an old friend whom I like and went on a date with a guy who made me go dutch on dinner and tried to not only get me to sleep with him but eat my face. The joys of dating continue.

Georgia football started in September. Went to the hottest and coldest game of the season.

Went to Dragon Con.

Unfortunately this year we lost a great man, the owner of my company.

Went to the FAIR! I love carnies. Though it was a bit of a flashback from this year at the beach when my brother wanted to ride a spinny ride. WHY!? Never again and I mean it this time. I still feel sick thinking about it. I’m gonna stick to the simple rides. AND YES FERRIS WHEELS SCARE ME!

October, I went to Michigan. I actually got on a plane and went out of the state of GA. It was so much fun and great reconnecting with old friends. I also turned 31.

A coworker offered up two tickets to see Heart at the Fox! I took my older sissy and we had a blast.

My brother started (assistant) coaching his school’s basketball team. I enjoy going to the games. I also enjoyed visiting him for lunch, eating a crispito and keeping it 100 when his class asked me if he was any good at basketball and if I was better.

I finally beat all the Star Worlds on our Wii Mario Brothers game with my good friend Poet. It only took us a year.

There's still a couple more weeks left in the month so there may be additions to this blog, but know this, last year for Christmas I got my Kindle and with an amazon.com gift card I bought The Night CircusI loved it and I’m going to read it again at the start of the New Year. Could we get a movie of this book already? This year I made coworkers into friends (without them I'd probably be unhappy and unemployed) made enemies into besties and reconnected with some really good people. I hope 2013 will follow suite.

Nice to Meet You

So I met the guy (BMW) who keeps stealing my parking spot. Well not formally, but I did get the pleasure or riding the elevator down with him the other afternoon.

He was quite hansom and was wearing a scarf (totes too cool). Of course I didn't know it was him until he drove passed me (because I stopped to talk to a friend on the way out) and we both gave each other a look. Like yeah I know who you are guy who keeps taking my spot!

And just a quick thought, I've woken up at 6:13am two mornings in a row. What up with all that? AND when we were decorating my Grandparent’s tree the other night the Angel fell off 3 times. Each time hitting me on the head…WHAT is with that?  There were 3 of us decorating couldn't she find someone else to fall on? Why me? Is she judging me for something?

Side Note: This picture makes me think of all those "Hey Girl" pictures. Like it should say, "Hey Girl, of course I'd like to wear your scarf, because it makes me look super sexy".

Guest Blogger: Douche from OKC

Wow! I logged into okc the other day and found a NOVEL in my inbox. I wonder if guys think we’ll write them back after making us read a lot of bullshit. Or are the testing us to see if we do read it. Whatever who cares! Here’s the message from FOODST4MP (it’s lengthy, hints NOVEL) and it’s time marked at 3:15 AM!…

“I’m smarter a helleva lot classier, and more fun than all of these other [insert bad word here] which have unfortunately (for you and I both) found your inbox.

Surprisingly, these male (and possibly lesbian female) creatures are intelligent enough to log on to the internet and are also able to operate a web-browser; thus enabling them to nest (and possibly breed) inside this God forsaken hellhole which only a moronic idiot (and probable pervert) would refer to as a ‘dating website’.

Unfortunately, (for you and I both), many of these [insert BAD word here again] were able to deliver random nonsense, or simple-minded hormone induced BS to your precious inbox and waste seconds (if not ENTIRE minutes) of your amazing and pristine life, and thus slightly impeding me as I carry out my duty of gaining your attention and impressing the ever lasting [insert bad word that starts with S here] out of you. (Editor’s Note: My inbox is precious? I’m amazing and my life is pristine? Wow you don’t even know me and you already know this!) For that, I send my apologies and will send my Army of minions (Editor’s Note: Shit.Just.Got.Real) to go kick their asses if you simply request, or, you know what, [insert bad word here that starts with F here] (Editor’s Note: Can this guy not cuss?) it…My minions are already on their way (and are already over half-way there may I add) to go handle business for us…:::cracks his knuckles::: We will be victorious in your honor. (Editor’s Note: Is he drunk, delusional or does he think he’s being cute?)

I forgot to mention earlier that I also have far more superior personality than God himself…(Editor’s Note: Oh NO he just didn't ) OK maybe that was BS but the rest of my expertly crafted message (Editor’s Note: Is that what you call this?) to you was all true (and also proofread by a ninja who I captured and took prisoner and now employ as my secretary/proofreading/make-up and hair/ancillary BS bitch).:::smacks the ninja upside the head::: ‘Get back to work on the disguises’…
I kick so much ass that I can act like a total douchebag in my first (and last if you don’t reply with the quickness) message to you, and already somehow know (without any shadow of a doubt because you also have a exponentially-expert-level-huge-I-can-kick-double-Jeopardy-square-in-the-ass brilliant mind) that I am NOT really a douchebag. I simply play one in your inbox/on the profile pages so that I may blend in with the surrounding wildlife here while hoping you are intelligent enough to spot my disguise and call me out on it…Which, for the record, my ninja did in fact help design in addition to proofreading (remember when I smacked him a bit ago). He isn't [insert bad word that starts with S here] without my superior intellect and good looks, but he has been known to help from time to time. (Editor’s Note: I’m a little confused…)

I've crossed behind enemy lines and infiltrated this territory full of actual real-life morons and douchebaggery as quickly and expertly as I could so that my superior skills and tactics will ensure that you (the Princess/Queen/Goddess of THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE  will be rescued in time for us to be able to do whatever it is that Princess/Goddess/Queen of THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE like to do after they aren't trapped inside retart-douchebaggery-I-may-be-stupid-and-horny-at-the-same-time-but-I’m-on-your-inbox-and-won’t-leave-until-you-block-me-or-meet-me-in-real-life-land, AKA Okstupid. (It’s not okcupid any longer). (Editor’s Note: Has anyone else gotten bored?)

F them for F’ing with You (the Princess/Goddess/Queen of THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE) and I, and making us endure all of the suffering which was brought unto both of us by this godforsaken hellhole of a website full of douche (Editor’s Note: Pot Kettle…) until I was able to come to your rescue (Editor’s Note: How sweet. He’s saving me).

If you help me help you, I will get us OFF OF THIS SITE FOREVER, never to return again! (Editor’s Note: Oh FOODST4MP promises are just words) BUT…it will take BOTH of us to escape…I can’t do it alone (Editor’s Note: And possibly won’t ever do it at all), and neither can you. (That’s why we’re here, right? To ESCAPE?)

These people (well 99.99999%of them anyways, You and I are both excluded) all suck and deserve what my minions are bringing their way here any minute now. If you hurry, you and I will be able to watch in super-ultra-omfg-it’s-real-life-in-person-HD and we can DVR (in our superior brains) my minions beating the brakes off their retarded, yet collective asses. It might prove to be fun (if you’re into that kind of stuff…)

I have skills woman, believe that, (or ‘dat as they say on the south side). I don’t know what part of town you are from or which dialect of English you prefer…BUT I KNOW ALL OF THEM BECAUSE I WROTE THEM ALL! (Editor’s Note: Unders dropped!!!) I know every language on the planet and I can fly (Editor’s Note: Good to know, I hate to fly), have x-ray vision, lasers, can play guitar and sing and all kinds of other [insert bad word here that starts with S]…I suck (Editor’s Note: You’re on to something) at dancing (Editor’s Note: Oh shit!) though, I won’t lie, it scares the absolute hell out of me…BUT, anything else, I will kick it in the ass.

Have a great morning/afternoon/evening (whenever you get this) and feel free to message me back (Editor’s Note: I think we both know that won’t be happening) (I did in fact write all this crap so you would reply and not report me to your local law enforcement agency)…After you write me back, I’ll try to reply back myself but at the very least I have instructed the ninja (the one I captured) to get back in touch with you for me…It’s hard for me (even with a captured ninja) to reply back sometimes because every single (and married) girl on this entire website likes to talk to me all day/night (that’s why they joined) and they all happen to be online right now which is  normal because I’m online. It’s no biggie though, you have nothing to worry about…I’m VERY picky (Editor’s Note: Maybe you shouldn't be, just sayin), and I have already picked you, so, hopefully I hear from you soon and maybe we will hit it off (and get the hell off this godforsaken website).

:::wipes the sweat off his forehead:::

Luckily (Editor’s Note: SHIT I thought this was over!) I was the one who trained Superman and I can go capture his sorry ass so that he can assist the ninja in writing you back, should you happen to contact me. As you can probably tell, I am VERY good at what I do. (Editor’s Note: What is that? What if this guy was foreal!?)

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as my ninja did proofreading it, although he may have screwed up somewhere (he isn't as good as I am myself at writing masterpieces)…I also hope you enjoyed my disguise which the ninja did have a hand in it’s construction (Editor’s Note: What is he talking about?) as well, :::smacks the ninja again this time harder:::…For the record, the hair is short now, but is growing back out : )

Merry Part,
B***

:::puts on the cape I ganked from Superman after I just went and kicked his ass without my ninjas help and flies away:::"

And there you have it folks. A bit of crazy brought to you from my okc.

I Don’t Know You and I Thank You to Take My Picture

I went out with my good friend last Friday for a Chamblian Reunion (of sorts) that the owners of the bar (Chamblians go figure) do every year around Thanksgiving because (duh) a shit load of peeps are in town. Practically NO ONE showed up but that’s besides the point of this blog.

I was guided to sit at a table with few people I know, but knew of, one in particular I did NOT know at all. When I walked in she hugged me and told me it was good to see me. Not only am I like “WTF” I thought “oh she thinks I’m Tracy”, but then she called me by my name! Creepy! Then she brings out her phone and starts taking pictures. To my surprise she wants one of me. The first one she tells me to get with my friend and I give a look like “why are you taking pictures of me”. She caught on and said, “I swear I won’t post on facebook I’ll text only”. I’m thinking “bitch I don’t care if you post them on facebook I don’t know you and you’re going to have pictures of me”. Still I did pose with my friend and then again BY MYSELF because she wanted one of JUST ME! o_O

The holidays are odd. It’s typical for me to run into people that were friends with my older sister that I may not remember, but this girl alls I know about her is that she USE to date one of my best friends (before we were friends) and she went to Dunwoody. But she seems to know LOTS of my besties and that just freaks me out.

Thankful

I fucking love Thanksgiving. For starters I must say I’m thankful that I can use that kind of language and not be judged (stop judging) or shot. Second this year a bunch of peeps are in town making rounds. Cousin Corey is going to make a stop and I’m so excited. I haven’t seen him since he asked us to “paint the town red with some green berets” and that was at least 2 years ago. I’m lying. He was in town for a short stop and we met for a quick lunch. Still so.excited.

Last night I heard of some dear old friends being in town (they only make it every 3 years) and at my sissy’s bar. Even though I was tired and hadn't showered I still got my ass up there to see them. If I hadn't I would of regretted it because I love these two folks and miss the shit out of them! I’m thankful for the (short) time I got to spend with them. It’s been a long time since I’d seen Philly’s face and it was joyous.

I’m staying with dear sweet Bruce this week while my brother and sister (in law) are enjoying New York. I’m thankful he’s such a champ! He may fall but he gets back up. I love how he sleeps next to my bed. I don’t know if this is because he wants to be near someone or if he’s being protective. Maybe both.

Tis the Season to Take Lots of Days Off from Work

Today is Thursday and my last full work week. Next week we have Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving and then starts my “every Friday off” weeks.

It’s a struggle to get out of bed every morning. It’s cold (love it), dark (time change) and I felt a bit under the weather this week (blah). I always get a cold/sinus infection this time of year. The weather is just so up and down it’s hard not to get sick.

That all being said, I’m totes wearing heels today and its totes a challenge!

Surprisingly Busy Week on OKC

Lately when I open up my OKC app there is little to NO activity, but today I had a bunch of notifications and interests. What’s going on OKC? Did you get some new members or something? This usually only occurs when I change my picture, which I have not.

The guy who wanted to move to Columbia and me be his Penelope Cruz to his Johnny Depp, is still messaging me. He asked if he should book the flight to which I replied, “ Shouldn't we meet first” and thinks we have plenty of time to get to know each other on the flight and it takes too much time to meet first…Um ok…How bout NO!

“GOTYERASS” (interesting screen name right!?) tells  me he could “really dig me”. Um duh! I’m totes dig'able, but his pictures are cute so even despite that awful name I wrote him back.

You Know it Aint That Cut and Dry

My beffy and I were hanging out last night and as we do we started talking about boys and…stuff…(by stuff I mean cookies and rainbows obviously).

We were watching American Horror Story Asylum and there was kind of a hot quickie sex scene between two “crazies”. I called this shit a couple of episodes ago, but for some reason my sissy didn't see what I saw. HELLO there was something there. Anyways following the sex scene my beffy says, “It’s always so clean in the movies when you know there’s a mess. One day I wanna see a movie where he cleans off her stomach”.

This gave me the LOL’s, because it’s TRUE! I mean come on. You can’t just do your business up in someone without consequences. That being said Happy Friday!

Just a thought, I've gotten a couple of Clockwork Orange feelings about the new season. I mean first off there is a scene with Kit where his eyes are held open that looks strikingly similar to Alex. THEN they go and try to “un gay” the main character in AHS buy making her look at pictures of naked women while feeding her drugs that make her vomit. Coincidence?

My Journey’s: Work Business up in My Business

Someone at work asked me the other day how “M” and I got together (side bar: “M” is one of my ex’s and he works with me). First off, how bout mind yb!? No really.

“M” and I have been friends since high school. I thought he was the hottest thing that walked the halls of Chamblee (even with his red forehead from falling asleep in class. Now that is LOVE). You know what they say is true you are your surroundings. We were so back and forth for years. He was into me, but I wasn't into him and vise versa. Finally we got on the same page (so I thought) and we made it official. As I do when I finally get what I want I don’t want it anymore. I think by the time it finally happened I was just over it, but wanted to give it a go.

Me thinks I do stuff like this all the time. Typical girl behavior of wanting what I can’t have just because I can’t have it. What a brat I can be. I could be totally into just being casual but as soon as he says he wants to be casual I’m like, what wait a minute that’s not how this is suppose to work…

I wish it were Friday. Ever since last December, when I took every Friday (and a couple Monday’s) of the month off I never got use to coming back to the 5 day work weeks. That being said, it’s almost December and I’ll be doing that again.

Tales from the OKC

I got a message from a guy the other day saying that he wanted to move to Columbia, like Johnny Depp in Blow, and he needed me to be his Penelope Cruz, alls I had to do was sit by the pool all day looking hot and drinking margaritas.

As appetizing as that sounds it’s going to be a strong NO for me.

My Journey’s: Maybe the First

Because it’s been a while, God knows the dating pool is awful right now (side bar: I am dating but it’s just dating) I’m reaching back a bit…

The other day I was thinking (I know I shouldn't strain myself) and I thought Garrett was my first real boyfriend. He should of set the tone for future relationships, but instead I rejected him. What is wrong with me? He was such a good guy. Carnations for our three-month anniversary, something he found more exciting than I did, he never push me into anything (kissing back then was a big deal mkay) and he always had nice things to say about me despite what was in his ear (Chamblee can be so dramatic and talk talk talk).

I’m probably stretching the truth a little. When I hit high school I had a number of boyfriends right off the bat (I’m not gloating). In truth I was just new eye candy to some, but I was something special to Garrett. He made sure I knew that and it made me feel weird so I put an end to it. I chose to be with someone that was less than good to me instead. This person turned out to be my long term. I grieve the thought of this.

The older I get (or maybe it’s just the dating) the more I realize that certain things just don’t matter and the ONE thing that actually does is how someone makes you feel. We set the tones for how we want to be treated. If we let guys get away with being jerks they’re going to be jerks. The saddest thing of all is Garret was way cuter (and taller) than who I chose for long term. What.Was.I.Thinking!? Now I’m so frightened of losing myself or getting hurt it’s hard for me to take the leap. And I really only have myself to blame. Most of us are damaged and we need to get the F over it! Live in the now.

This is turning into a self help (of sorts) so I’ll end with Happy Voting Tuesday! Thank God it’s almost over. It’s nasty outside and I can only think that it’s a direct reflection on our candidates. That being said, I'm not voting so as my Daddio would say my opinion doesn't count.

Out with the Old in with the New

So...apparently they've gone and changed our childhood Jem! Taking her from sluts and glam to sleek and modern. I for one am outraged. Why take a good thing and change her? What kind of message is that sending our youths? Alls I gotta say is bitch better still have the light up earrings (by the looks of it she don't).

No really I guess this is a good thing. We've all evolved why shouldn't Jem do the same. Move with the times if you will. Jem’s come a long way from my grandparent’s playroom where she met her demise against my sissy’s head.

I’m more mad that when I Google “Jem” all the new 2012 dolls come up and not the vintage Jem we all grew up with. How am I supposed to avenge her death and have my sissy’s head forgive me now? Not to mention she’s being sold for well over $200! Bitch is too expensive. I don’t think so Jem. I don’t think so.

Reasons for Why Michigan

I am forever in indebted to my hosts (for more than generous accommodations) and travel buddy for my recent trip to Michigan. Flying is not by forte but I got there and back, so I thank God for that.

Dear (12) readers, if you ever get a chance to check out Why Michigan on my blog list do so. My friends who moved UP there a couple of years ago write about their adventures, experiences and love of UP North Michigan.

My trip was a BLAST and absolutely gorgeous! I fell in love with their son and all the surroundings they DON’T take advantage of, every single day. Listening to their stories and seeing their love is inspiring really. A short stop by the beach and I found a heart shaped rock (adding to my collection of heart shaped finds), so I knew things were going to be good. We had a food truck night with some live music and beer and a girl’s day at a vineyard where the wine was amazingly tasty. Did I mention we ate an amazing dinner at an old asylum? OMG! Right up my alley this place was incredible. All the food was unforgettably good and different in a great way. Cherry kraut on a ruben! A.MA.ZING! Going back to spend at least a week there is on my life list. We stuffed a lot to do in 3 days and nights, but there’s so much more Michigan has to offer, I know this much from our trip.

Upon getting back from my trip it was my birthday. Friends and Family made my day so special and awesome! Ending the night with a beer tasting at the Mad Italian and I must of missed a lot when I was gone because my best friend was super sour about something, another best friend basically didn't want to hang out with us (not like we don’t see him every day), my sissy started seeing bologna again and my Tiffy came out of the house…BIZZARO BIZZARO! Still the beer tasting was awesome and they served a candle on our desert. Let me NOT forget that we got a Halloween Mad I shirt for our bday. AWESOME and thank you.

It’s been a GREAT last few days! Pictures don’t do the place or experience justice, but they’re something to remind me.

Oakland Cemetery Fest

In great Halloween fashions my Auntie, sissy and I decided to visit the Oakland Cemetery Festival. They do all kinds of tours (Halloween tour is $20!) and I am pretty amazed at how beautiful this place is and why haven’t we been here before?…

After a grueling 30-minute tour all around the cemetery JUST to see Margaret Mitchell’s resting place we started walking around on our own. This place is HUGE. Visited a couple more “famous” graves, saw some antique cars (oh how I wish we still had one) and Tracy, who thought the graves weren't big enough, laid down on one to see if they were. Of course it was plenty big and talk about disrespecting a grave. Shame on her.

Time was growing on us and we were walking past an old fashion picture booth. You know those old fashion picture places where they dress you up in costume? Well my Auntie was all, “Lets do this” and we’re all like “ok lets”, but of course my aunt chose to leave us to do it while she “held onto our stuff”. Well-played Auntie…well played.

As you can see the pictures did come out pretty cute and it was quite funny, the whole experience. Tracy’s dress fit perfectly where as mine wouldn't even zip up, yet it was very slimming on me. Flattering if I do say so myself. People kept coming up to us asking if they could take our picture and saying how cute we were. Um duh!

There You Go Again Jason

Per my usual I've been forced to quote Jason Mraz. I don’t go looking for them they just pop up when I need them. People gotta stop dying because I’m gonna run out of them.

Sometimes it may seem dark, but the absence of the light is a necessary part”

The song doesn't even have to make since to what we’re going through, but certain lyrics just work. I've probably said this before, but I can always find some kind of ease in a Jason Mraz song.  What makes since in this here lyric is that we’re gonna see “dark” but the “absence” of that “light” is “necessary” in life.  He goes on to say that we’re never alone; we can always go back home and so on to say home is inside of ourselves.

I just think it’s beautiful and peaceful and quite directly it makes since and his word play on life really hits me…hard sometimes.

Oh it’s so October

Last night I passed this AMAZING house decked out in Halloween décor (see pictured). I was so excited I wanted to stop but didn't (sads). When I arrived at my destination I explained my excitement to my date and he said, “Yeah I know what you’re talking about, wanna go check it out?” UM F YEAH I DO! So we went back and took pictures. How awesome is that? Finished up the night watching one of my FAVE movies Clue, that I've been itching to watch.

Today my phone is near its death…which is too bad because I've got a lot of activity going on this morning (not typical). Lots of instagraming, tweeting (retweets I love) and texting. None of this I can do if it dies! Hold on dear phone I can charge you on the way home.

I leave for Michigan in two weeks! I’m so excited to see fall in Michigan, pumpkin patching and picking apples. I get back just in time for my birthday and Netherworld that week. Methinks I got a busy month, but it’s October and that makes me happy.

Sadly I Inform that Yet Again

Followers, you may or may not know that it’s been a tough couple of weeks here in Tara land (my head mostly). Besides me making up my own shit, we (Chamblee) are experiencing yet another loss. A friend (considerably apart of old Chamblee) passed away Saturday morning in his sleep by what seems to have been a heart attack. It’s such a freak thing and kind of hard to wrap minds around. Sorry if this sounds insensitive, but I was just relieved to hear it wasn't drugs or suicide, because as you know that’s usually how we do it in Chamblee (and that just SUCKS but all the same losing friends just SUCKS and what sucks more is that sadly our minds go there when we hear of deaths).

But no, he had a bad cough through out the night and didn't wake up when he was summoned in the morning. I do write this with great regret. It’s always sad to hear this kind of news and my heart goes out to his family, his NEW wife, and his closest friends, whom some happen to be my closest friends.

Due to recent events I was forced to run into my (dreaded) ex boyfriend. And as he does he told me not to be a stranger and call him (or some shit) to hang out (or some shit). I don’t really know I was kind of not in a normal head space  but either way, not.gonna.happen. Like good to see you (not really) but no thanks (really). I hate to say, because it sucks, but he’s so my type. But what are types anyways? Obviously my “type” isn't working out for me.

On to the more important subject, added to my prayer list is Carl’s family and our friends. Amen.

That’s My Parking Spot Dear Sir

This morning someone stole my parking spot. Yes MY parking spot. I've seen him in the parking lot before. Usually he parks beside me or around me, why today did he take my spot? Clearly his BMW is more important than my Mazda. NOT OK!

Still, I didn't let this crude act put me in a bad mood. An older man was walking in the building behind me and I opened the door and let him in ahead of me. He was so thankful and happy over this gesture. He said, “don’t take this the wrong way but what a gentleman”. I didn't take it the wrong way, we both laughed (hahaha). As we do, we got on the (dreaded) elevator together all by our lonesomes and he said, “there are two types of chivalry in the world, men to women and young to old, thank you very much”. As he was getting off he said, “I hope you have a great day”.

It feels good to please people, or do something nice for someone. I mean he wasn't that old and all I did was hold the door open for him, but he was so thankful. He brightened my day.

We're Gonna Grow On Up To Be

Every day I drive by my old house because it’s in my neighborhood, but yesterday it got me thinking to myself, “I wish I could go back there, things were much easier back then”, but when I think about it that’s not really true.

I think when we’re feeling down we like to go back and think that things were easier “back then”, but really we had shit going on then too. Living in that house, sure we had great parties and we were so young, but we had our fair share of hardship too. The more I thought about it I remembered countless cry fests over “boyfriends”, fights with my roommate (we would write each other letters cause we couldn't stand each other. Thankfully we’re best friends now) and even some fist a cuffs with my sissy (yeah those still happen). If nothing else rent was only $300 and I could function on little to no sleep. Boy how the time has changed me.

And it’s as if she knows, my sister in law texted me this morning telling me she was thinking of me, without even knowing that I needed that. She’s awesome I love her. Life has a way of teaching us what we do and don’t need. I know I need at least 7 hours of sleep to function. I also know that I don’t need any bullshit. And if I’m being honest with myself I do need Scott Speedman (you’ll always be Benjamin to me Scott).

Thank you Facebook…

For reminding me that I hate you and that I love the “hide” option that you got rid of.

I’m going to say that facebook has been responsible for making me mad at every guy I've dated since I've been single. Facebook and the over willingness to share every little thing you do on fb. Dating is hard enough, and then you got facebook adding drama where it doesn't need to be.

This Week I Love Kickball

I had a GREAT kickball game last night! I caught a high fly ball at shortstop with the tips of my fingers in our first inning. I followed that one up with almost an exact replica of that catch, but missed it…thankfully our captain (who usually steals my plays) backed me up and got the guy out at third. In the 6th inning I caught another pop up at shortstop to what I was told was the reason we won the game. I was quite the MVP last night, if I don’t say so myself.

It wasn’t just me. The whole team showed up last night. I needed those catches just as badly as the rest of my team did. We’ve had 4 games and these are my first official catches of the season. The rest I’ve dropped or they bounced off me. Sads.

Besides all that everyone was behaving. Probably because the team we played wasn’t all together. I’ve realized my team acts out when we play someone better than us.

This Year in Halloween News

Because it’s only a little bit over a month away and duh I’ve been weighing my considerations since June, I’ve come to a semi conclusion of what I’m going to be for Halloween this year…The Bride of Frankenstein.

A couple years ago I bought an inflatable Bride of Frankenstein headpiece. It’s kind of funny, but paired with a white dress (still looking for the perfect one, I’ll be hitting up antique stores) and the right makeup (from a friend) I think it’ll be cute. Too bad I don’t have a Frankenstein. Single girl problem: Always wanting to do a couple costume for Halloween and not having the + one to do so.

But uh oh…A very close second has me wanting to be Clockwork Orange Alex. As disgusting as the movie and/or character is, there is something about him that is so intriguing.

If Tuesday Were A Person...It Was Home Schooled

I’m crying on the inside today. Not like a balling just a mere weeping. Nothing really specifically sad happened today its just happening. A coworker announced her recent engagement. Don’t get me wrong I’m totes happy for her, but that now makes for TWO engagers in the office, and I’m still single, so methinks that’s a bit greedy of the office. It could also just be nearing that time of the month.

I read today that I could make some extra (not much) mullah by publishing my blog on the kindle. As far as I can see it’s FREE (for me) and sounds pretty enticing. Dear readers I’ll be looking into this. My cousin said I need to get rid of my blogspot, but I’m like it’s FREE, I’m not paying for a URL and just FOLLOW me!

Anyways, it’s just Tuesday and I have a lot going through my head today. My cc ran out of its no interest and in trying to do a balance transfer applied for the WRONG card and now that’s just something I have to deal with tomorrow. Giant.Pain.In.The.Ass. On a happy note, it’s FALL and it’s amazing outside. Brisk in the morning, cool in the afternoon, the sounds and feelings of fall are everywhere. Soon I’ll be digging out Halloween decor from my attic and carving pumpkins (don’t know why this excites me every year we curse the night in doing this). Michigan is less than a month away, and though I’m not excited to fly I’m really excited about the trip.

Maybe my inner weeps are happy not sad.

Taco Bell and Their New Sauce Sayings

Can we get one of these that say “Friend Request Denied”? Typically I do more denying than accepting. Seriously I probably have 14 ignored friend requests right this very moment. Sometimes I go through them and try to know you or remember you, but truth is I don’t so we’re probably not friends. Not even by facebook standards.

This Week in a Rundown

It’s been a while since last I’ve blogged (rambled, complained or whatever) so I thought I’d give you, my dear readers, a run down of my week.

For starters the last guy I went out with (who made me go dutch on drinks/dinner and who attacked my facekeeps texting me. I honestly don’t know if he actually likes me and thinks the date went well or if I've now become a conquest to concur. He texted me some shit about how miller lites (my fave) were burning a hole in his fridge and they weren't going to drink themselves so I needed to “come over” and that he’d “try” to behave. I told him that I was busy doing laundry.

Kickballs has been back for three weeks now. We’ve lost 2 and won 1. Not a good record. We played an old friends team this week and of course as my team does, they acted like total douche bags. I don’t know if it’s because some of them are so young or if that’s just them but it’s like every little thing, some of my players, want to make a big deal of it and act out. I literally considered cussing them out and walking off the field all dramatic like. When it came time to shake hands at the end of the game, one of my very own teammates (douche bag) refused to shake hands with one particular player. Un sports man like and not ok by me. I shouldn’t have to feel the need to apologize for my team. It’s fall my favorite season. The weather is showing signs of such and we should be out having a good time not making deals out of nothing. It’s kickball! Drink your beer, kick some balls and shut up if you have something negative to say.

The memorial for our boss was this week. I didn’t think I’d get emotional, but damnit when his granddaughter got up there and started crying I couldn’t help myself. After she was gone I thought I was in the clear, but NO! His son gave me the water works as well. He really was a great man. I was honored to be there. The service was quite nice and hello they had an open bar after!

Finally, it’s Friday and last night we went to the County Fair. I’d never been to anything like this and been wanting to go ever since I read The Night Circus. It was so much fun, but after a couple of spinny rides my sissy and myself weren’t feeling that good. Reminded me of that awful ride we rode at t he beach that made us all sick. Just thinking about it makes me ick feeling. And per usual we got on the ferris wheel and stopped right at the tippy top which freaks me the F out! It’s like they know I no likey. Regardless it was fun. Spent more money than we anticipated, but I’d go again.

That I Am A Scorpio

That all being established, I am thinking up ways to get someone back right now (vindictive Scorpio). I can’t even help it! It just happens. It’s in my nature.

I’m so sensitive to people not responding to my texts quicker. I automatically go to the negative. When really we all get busy with LIFE. When I don’t get what I want, or what I expect, I get upset and start to play situations of meanness out in my head. I don’t typically go through with them, but still.

I feel like every time I let my guard down it comes back to bite me! There’s this duet that I LOVE and a verse that goes, (F) “I wish you’d hold me when I turn my back” (M) “The less I give the more I get back” and I totes feel that way!

Enough of all that…someone asked me the other night what traits I share with the Scorpio and here it is. If you know me at all you’ll see the similarities I share with the common Scorpio. Some are truer than others.

Shivers on a Sad Day

I don’t know what it is, but whenever I talk about sad things or frustrating things I get really cold. Like shivering cold.

Last night it was during a conversation of suicide. Today it’s after hearing that the owner of our company doesn’t have much longer to live. After seeing my boss crying and sitting thinking on the sad news I can’t stop shivering and my hands are freezing.

Mr. B is a great man and he’ll be greatly missed for everything he did for each and every one of us. Whether we knew him for years or just days, he was good to us.

My Journey’s: WARNING GRAPHIC but no NUDITY

I woke up this morning thinking last nights date was just a nightmare…No such luck.

Everything started off really well. He was cute, dressed nice and even taller than me. We shared a lot of the same interests, spoke about music and being on the beach. 3 hours flew by at this brew house and we got the tab. As I do, I ignore it and just wait for it to be paid, but not with this guy. He says, “So you wanna split this”. I was shocked but kept it together and said, “sure”. He scurried off to the laboratories and I told the waiter to split it down the middle, even though I had TWO beers compared to his FOUR and we SPLIT a salsa and queso. At one point in the night he mentions his “female confidant”. At the end of the date I’m thinking, did his “female confidant” tell him to split the tab? You must know this guy is a beer brewer by profession, so my “male confidant” told me this guy needs to brew up some common courtesy. At the very least to pick up the damn tab on a date!

Still he asked me if I wanted to come back to his place because it was a nice night and we could “hang on the porch”. Not to seem totally annoyed, which I was, I said yes. I’m thinking ONE beer and I’ll go, because it is a work night for me. I follow him to his place down the road and he gets us both a beer. We’re sitting on his porch enjoying my fave Miller Lite and all the sudden he comes in for the kiss. You would think this would be nice…it wasn’t. Probably the worst kisser I’ve ever dealt with and there was no way I could make it work even a little bit. He’s being way too aggressive, which just sets the tone for what he’s really out for.

He’s getting more and more aggressive and I tell him things gotta stop there. He goes on and on asking me questions about why, and telling me my body and the way I’m acting or dressing (believe me my clothes were on LOCK DOWN) is telling him differently (WTF!) and I’m having to explain to him my morals (because damnit I do have them). This goes on for a while. He tells me he has to sleep with someone to know if he wants to “date” her. Knowing this is all complete bullshit I just tell him it doesn’t work that way for me. I do finally convince him that NOTHING is going to happen, by telling him I was just Baptized and I'm walking a life through the eyes of God (forgive me) and I get on my way home knowing that he’ll never call me and that I’m completely ok with that.

Probably the worst date I’ve ever been on. And it showed such great promise at the beginning of the night. Boo dude!

UPDATE: The guy texts me this morning! He says he had a great time last night and for me to have a great week. What a weird day. Dilemma, one guy I like doesn't know how to make plans or text me on the whim, yet he tells me great things about myself and makes me feel good. This guy totes makes me feel like he's out for ONE thing (that is sex) and yet he follows up with texts telling me he had fun and to have a great week.

Suicide Awareness

Apparently it’s suicide awareness day and to show our support we’re suppose to wear yellow. In my research (Wikipedia) I couldn’t back this “yellow” theory up, I did however find this: "Suicide Awareness September 10th write Love on your wrist or wear something yellow to show your support for anyone who has thought of, attempted or succeeded in taking their own life".

I don’t own one piece of yellow because I was raised a GA bulldog and disgust the color but, I still want to share my support

Could this FB be an Evil Cult?

Again it’s fb! These holes that allow people we don’t want contacting us to get in. Today I have deleted a friend request from the same person 3 times (I have always preferred things that come in threes)! I guess she didn’t get the hint the first time I REJECTED her request. So, she thought it good measure to ask again…and again. Home girl it’s not happening!

I guess we do it to ourselves. Putting ourselves out there vulnerable to people contacting us. Usually it’s as simple as rejecting a friend request (once), but this one seems to be harder than it’s worth. So now it has come to her being BLOCKED!

“We Can’t Help Who We Fall In Love With”

I don’t believe that! We don’t fall in love with the a**hole because he treats us badly. We fall in love with him because it’s something we want. Something we’re lacking, but we find in him. Something we think we deserve or that we can’t do better.

I’ve heard women time and time again say that. Girl he treats you badly, you CAN help that. We are in control of our own feelings and options. It’s not up to a feeling. I feel like I want to punch someone in the face right now, but just because I feel that doesn’t mean I have to do it. I feel like I may love someone because I’m lacking the attention I think I deserve, but that doesn’t mean I love him. It means I’m lacking the attention I desperately want, not that I’m going to find it in this one particular person. We should allow ourselves the time to figure it out and get rid of all the bullshit.

Love is drama, people are drama, love yourself first peoples! And that concludes my serial talk for the day. Happy FREAKIN Friday.

Number ONE Reason I Hate Facebook

I realize that mark zuckleburger (or whatever) is making a shit ton of money off facebook, but at the price of it’s user’s privacy…I just don’t think that’s fair. As an adult I can choose my privacy settings and KNOW, with great certainty, what I am and am not putting out there for the WORLD to see. But for a child who has absolutely NO idea what he or she is getting into…it’s scary.

I remember a time when you had to be a certain age to join. Not only that, you had to be in college. It was a college network. Now before fb there was Myspace, but still you had to be at least 18 or older. I think even 18 at this point is too young to post your life online, but at least it was there. Protecting us. Now you can be ANY age! Some are not mature enough to decide for themselves what is or is not appropriate for social sites. I know for myself I didn’t realize what I was doing until I was 25 and I had to learn the hard way.

Fb does gives us the option to make our pages private, but for a teen that thinks they’re the shit doesn’t want anything and everything they do every second of every waking minute to be private. Could there at least be a MANDITORY private setting for teens? In a perfect world these teens would have parents who actual PARENT their children. Maybe most do, but I know some that don’t. If it were me I would be taking my child’s computer and cell phone, or ipod or whatever, away every night at 9:00. I swear having a 16-year-old niece has scared me away from ever wanting kids.

If our parents don’t protect us then who will? It’s certainly not the moneymakers behind such sites like facebook. They don’t care. And they shouldn’t have to.

P.S. Hey facebook, is there a way you can BLOCK friend requests? Some crazy bia keeps requesting me after I ignore her! I mean I know I'm awesome, but no one should be that eager to be my friend...
