My Journey’s: WARNING GRAPHIC but no NUDITY

I woke up this morning thinking last nights date was just a nightmare…No such luck.

Everything started off really well. He was cute, dressed nice and even taller than me. We shared a lot of the same interests, spoke about music and being on the beach. 3 hours flew by at this brew house and we got the tab. As I do, I ignore it and just wait for it to be paid, but not with this guy. He says, “So you wanna split this”. I was shocked but kept it together and said, “sure”. He scurried off to the laboratories and I told the waiter to split it down the middle, even though I had TWO beers compared to his FOUR and we SPLIT a salsa and queso. At one point in the night he mentions his “female confidant”. At the end of the date I’m thinking, did his “female confidant” tell him to split the tab? You must know this guy is a beer brewer by profession, so my “male confidant” told me this guy needs to brew up some common courtesy. At the very least to pick up the damn tab on a date!

Still he asked me if I wanted to come back to his place because it was a nice night and we could “hang on the porch”. Not to seem totally annoyed, which I was, I said yes. I’m thinking ONE beer and I’ll go, because it is a work night for me. I follow him to his place down the road and he gets us both a beer. We’re sitting on his porch enjoying my fave Miller Lite and all the sudden he comes in for the kiss. You would think this would be nice…it wasn’t. Probably the worst kisser I’ve ever dealt with and there was no way I could make it work even a little bit. He’s being way too aggressive, which just sets the tone for what he’s really out for.

He’s getting more and more aggressive and I tell him things gotta stop there. He goes on and on asking me questions about why, and telling me my body and the way I’m acting or dressing (believe me my clothes were on LOCK DOWN) is telling him differently (WTF!) and I’m having to explain to him my morals (because damnit I do have them). This goes on for a while. He tells me he has to sleep with someone to know if he wants to “date” her. Knowing this is all complete bullshit I just tell him it doesn’t work that way for me. I do finally convince him that NOTHING is going to happen, by telling him I was just Baptized and I'm walking a life through the eyes of God (forgive me) and I get on my way home knowing that he’ll never call me and that I’m completely ok with that.

Probably the worst date I’ve ever been on. And it showed such great promise at the beginning of the night. Boo dude!

UPDATE: The guy texts me this morning! He says he had a great time last night and for me to have a great week. What a weird day. Dilemma, one guy I like doesn't know how to make plans or text me on the whim, yet he tells me great things about myself and makes me feel good. This guy totes makes me feel like he's out for ONE thing (that is sex) and yet he follows up with texts telling me he had fun and to have a great week.

My Journey’s: Last Night’s Date

Admit it, my dear (12) followers; you knew I’d be recapping my date from last night here.  I’ll start it off like this: We were scheduled to meet at a restaurant out in midtown. Traffic was awful and it was raining (when it rains in Atlanta, everyone just stops knowing how to drive…wait people never know how to drive) so we headed off the highway to a just as fancy place owned by the same people of the original restaurant we’re suppose to meet at. I know that was a lot of info. I find the place and go in, and what do you know they won’t seat me without the rest of my party (one person). “Let me see what I can do for you just a second” the host says. I’m thinking “Oh I’m sorry it’s not like I’m ruining you’re night by being here, switching reservations, the place is almost EMPTY and I see waiters walking around, sitting at the bar with nothing to do, but oh it’s all good I’ll wait”.

I’m sitting near the door waiting for him to arrive and everyone that walks in ahead of him I get that nervous feeling and you know that awkward moment when you’re waiting for a blind date and an old man walks in and you think “oh shit”. It’s just not fun. However that wasn’t my date, my date was worse…in walks my date and the first thing I think is “OH NO HE’S SHORT”. He’s short ya’ll. Yep he’s short. Shorter than me and that’s a problem. Second thought is, his picture online is definitely a younger buck of himself. The date goes on boringly. I’m making stupid conversation mostly about stuff no one cares about let alone a stranger and he’s laughing at things that I’m saying that aren’t meant to be funny.

Finally he’s ordered dinner (it only took our waitress 5 visits to our table), and we’ve gotten through dinner and I’m thinking I can go home. Guess again…He wants desert. Not desert from the restaurant, he’s got a craving for yogurt. He’s paid for dinner and asks me if I have cash…because get this even after he tells me I’m going to have to have money to pay for parking (so I went to the bank) he doesn’t have cash and needs to pay valet. He says, “I’ve got dinner, but I just need a couple bucks for parking”. Yeah no problem here's $2. Did I mention he also paid with a coupon? Lucky US there’s a Yoforia down the street and just to avoid feeling like I owe him anything I pay for yogurt. We say our goodbyes and I run off without anything too awkward. Just when I think this is over he calls me. Here’s where I turn into a big asshole and I don’t know why I do this. He asks me if I had fun tonight and if I want to see him again I say yes…What.Is.Wrong.With.ME!?

Conversation with this guy had me thinking he's a bad luck charm. As if I couldn't get anymore OCD and superstitious! He tells me he's tried three times to open his own business. Once his mom was diagnosed with cancer, died :( , once 9/11 and one more time market crash. I tell him please, for humanity, don't do that again. He goes on to tell me he sat next to a guy at church whom he thought was a jerk and 6 months later the guy dies and no one can tell you how...It was a FREAK accident of sorts. Yeah I think it's in my best interest to stay away from this guy.

My Journey's: Well No Time Like the Present

After a lot of consideration I re-activated my okcupid account. I’ve gone on a total of 2 dates since I rejoined and I’m already about over it, checking it close to never and even setting up a date and forgetting about it…Oopsies. Well he didn’t try to contact me to definite plans anyways, so no harm no foul.

All that being said I have a date tonight. I feel like I’ve been here before. Explaining to you all, my few readers, that I have yet another online date to go on. They never amount to anything. If anything at all a good story (or bad story) in “My Journey’s”. Maybe this one will, or won’t, end up there. It has been a while since I’ve posted anything in that section of my blog.

Wish me luck readers. No matter how hard I try (or how many times I say I won’t) not to get my hopes up, I always do! They always go up just to be dropped down. I’m not being droopy I’m just sayin. Maybe I’ll get a second date…Maybe a third…Maybe I’ll be able to use the sessy unders I bought for more than just myself (I kid I kid) ;) Maybe it will maybe it won’t, but just like my title, no time is like the present. Here’s to it… * cheers *
