What is With People?

I don’t understand why there are always dirty dishes in the sink at work. Do these people think that someone is going to do their dishes for them? Work is not your home people! I have to deal with this enough at my place due to my sister not knowing how to clean off a dish and place it in the dishwasher after use. Yeah sissy YOU. It’s disgusting, smelly and causes bugs. Lately I've been helping her out because, see I like to live in a clean place, and because I know she works a lot. Still we're all adults here. Cleaning off your dishes should be your task not mine. I thank you not to leave it up to me *smiles*

Why wait till later when you can do it now and there’s less to do. At work this is unacceptable. Certain someones use the last paper towel and don’t replace it, use the last spoon and don’t fill the drawer, drink the last cup of coffee and not only do you not make a new pot you leave the empty pot on the burner. Um hello! Come on people! Is it really that hard to do? I don’t find it at all difficult.

My Journey’s: Nearing 30

As I’m nearing 30 I was thinking back to the last couple years and my journeys of online dating. A dear old friend texted me this afternoon and I remembered that he made a special appearance to my 28th bday celebration when not many people did. This brings me to another story...

I don’t remember this guy’s name, but I remember that he was from Match.com and wasn’t all that bad. See, while I was turning 28 I was seeing someone. It was off and on, hot and cold for well over 6 months. I liked him, he didn’t like me, he liked me, and I didn’t like him. We were rarely ever on the same page. Particularly during my birthday I liked him and wanted him around for my day. He “had plans” and couldn’t make it. I was totally bummed out. Still I motored on and with my besty and sissy’s in tow went to a haunted house then up to the Derby. I had gone out on a date with said Match.com guy a couple nights before to get my mind off the guy I was seeing, who was paying me no mind. He was cute, had a good job, funny, dressed nice, all around nice to hang out with.

So, we’re at the Derby and for some reason Match.com guy meets me up there on my bday. Which is super sweet considering he didn’t know my friends, let alone me, and he came out to see me at the DIRTY Derby on my bday. Long story short, I ended up ignoring him and of course never heard from him again. I deserved it because that was totally my bad. You know I’ll never know but it could have worked out between us. I stopped seeing the guy I was dating shortly after, because it wasn’t going anywhere and I was just over it.

Last year, as I’m turning 29, I was seeing okc “J”. I really liked this guy. Everything seemed to be falling into place for me. It was nearing October, so fall was in the air, Halloween was beckoning and of course my bday.  Our first date was nice. We met at the Mad I. Admittedly he said the place looked shady, but I think he liked it. After that we took ourselves up to the local pub to finish off the night with a couple beers. He liked me enough to ask me out on a couple more dates. Eventually I noticed he wasn’t communicating with me as much as he use to. In the end he didn’t feel I was forward enough and he said it didn’t seem like I liked him. I guess I was a bit freaked out by the idea of actually liking someone and didn't know how to act, so I reacted by being stand offish and shy. Which is so not me. So, we stopped seeing each other. Bummers.

This year I’m turning 30. As of yet I’m not seeing anyone and don’t have any plans to be. Either way I’m determined to have a great birthday! Hopefully I'll have an action packed October with haunted houses, parties and good spirits.  As Joe Dirt would say, "keep on, keepin' on.”.

All I Want for Halloween is A Decent Flick

In my quest to find some Horror movies to record on my DVR for the upcoming season, I came across Altitude. Straight from IMDB “After a mysterious malfunction sends their small plane climbing out of control, a rookie pilot and her four teenage friends find themselves trapped in a deadly showdown with a supernatural force.”

First off, what in the world is a “rookie pilot” doing taking 4 of her “teenage” friends in a plane anywhere without adult or qualified supervision? She’s a rookie first off and a teenager second! This to me is so wrong and ridiculous. Disaster is sure to ensue. Second, as most films these days the acting is horrible. It’s like the actors/actresses are too busy trying to stay pretty instead of actually acting. Hollywood this is your fault. What happened to the good ol days, when Nancy looked like a real human being? People in real life don’t look like this. So they’re pretty, but they can’t act for shit! On top of that there’s the token asshole character that everyone wonders why they’re friends with him. He was so unnecessarily mean and horrible I wanted to turn the channel every time he opened his mouth. I was actually against the lead character instead of for her. Third, I could barely keep myself awake. I actually did fall asleep so I have to go home and finish this piece of shit tonight. I can’t start a movie and not finish it.

DirecTV I want Jason. The first one not that crap that started after the second. I want Freddy. I want Halloween. I can even deal with Rob Zombie’s version. How bout Night of the Living Dead or Fright Night. Is it too much to ask for some good Horror flicks this holiday season? There is nothing wrong with a bad horror flick, but this one was just awful.

My Journeys: The One Who Was Alright

I went out on a date last night. He said all the right things, kept saying I was beautiful (almost annoying), rode a motorcycle, was in my age group…But still I woke up this morning and decided I wasn’t interested.

He said he was amazed I found him on LinkedIn. This is after he gave me his full name and told me to search for him on facebook. Well I didn’t stop there, as I do, I googled him to see what I could find. Dude, you’re an IT Engineer, you type in a name and hit enter BOOM you popped up. That’s how I found you on LinkedIn. He took me to the Brick Store Pub and we stole glasses together. He walked me to my car and when I asked what he drove he told me a Mazda3 and that he didn't like it. He compared them to Hondas (I hate Hondas). When we arrived at my car and he saw I drove a Mazda3 he said that was awesome, mine was different and better than his. He wanted a fist pump. His is a 2010 mine is a 2007. We talked a little bit about the Troy Davis case. I was against the death, he was for it. I said he’s not hurting anyone in jail, he proved me wrong by tallying up how much we as tax payers are spending just to house him a year. It was a mature debate. He wants to have kids, me I gave up on that. Not to say if I was married I wouldn’t have one, but I wouldn’t try for one.

I think I’m holding out for that just right guy not the just alright guy. On the way to work this morning I saw a rainbow. In the middle of a trafficy highway and nasty wet roads, there was this beautiful rainbow. So, I know there’s a brighter date out there.

To my readers, I’ve been forced to make my blog private. That means you can only read it if you’re a follower. It was brought to my attention that OKC’ers google me and it comes up. I just don’t want someone finding it and reading about themselves. Then I’d feel bad.

Am I Some Kind of Online Expert?

I find my friends asking me for online dating advice. As well, I find myself giving out advice a lot. I guess being on the scene for over 2 years does make me some sort of a veteran.

I am more than happy to spill my advice and push you to do it when you’re on the fence. However, it only awakens me to the fact that I have been online for a while and still single. Which I’m completely fine with, I’m very happy in my life and where I am, it’s just been 2 years.

At this point I keep my profile posted for a couple reasons, 1) It’s FREE, so no damage is being done and 2) Anything can happen and I’m still hopeful. Still I check my profile less and less. It’s probably a bit out of date, but I can’t find the energy or will to update it.

I have come to the realization that there is no shame in online dating. I’ve been on dates where guys literally didn’t want to mention it. As well, it doesn’t matter what is written in your profile (for the most part). We go straight for the pictures first. Then we give a damn what they have to say. It’s a big pool of maybes. Maybe it’ll work, maybe I’ll like him, maybe he’ll like me but I won’t like him, maybe it’ll be the other way around, maybe this is a big waste of time or maybe I’ll find the one.

My advice to anyone thinking about it, just do it. There’s nothing that is holding you back but yourself. Are you scared of meeting someone new? Recently single? Getting out of your bubble? I was, but look at me now, I have about 50 dates under my belt and I’m still kickin, still hopeful, still online dating. It’s fun, it’s annoying and it’s up in the air. It’s possible.

My Journey’s: A Haunting Tale

This journey comes from an actual boyfriend I had some years ago. It’s been so long it’s hard to track when the last time it was I had an actual boyfriend. But I digress this was a boyfriend and it lasted a year. He would of married me but neither of us would have been happy. Moving on…

My boyfriend was taking me to his Grandparent’s house in Cleveland GA for reasons I can’t remember. Story is that this house is haunted. It’s been in the family for years and it has actually moved with the family. Literally picked up and moved to Cleveland GA when they wanted to move. It’s been added to through out the years and the new parts aren't haunted, allegedly. Anyways, I’ve been told a number of stories about this house, even before he and are were an item, so I was super excited to visit, as well as scared. So scared I didn’t even want to use the restroom.

My beau and I are sitting in an upstairs bedroom (turned office) with his father playing video games. His father is to my right, in the desk chair, and my beau is to my left sitting on the floor, as I am. The TV is placed on a desk with a couple drawers on it’s left (my right). I happened to be sitting in front of the drawers. All the sudden the middle drawer starts to open slowly RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE! I sat there and stared frozen. Kind of like this o_O And my boyfriend says, “What was that?” and his dad replies, “We all know what that was”.

It was creepy and exciting. So, don’t tell me ghosts don’t exist.  I do believe they do, not only because of this experience, but because it’s not so crazy to think that ghosts exist. Why wouldn’t they? We exist.

ExcedrinPM Safety Cap Issue?

From a friend at work...

Attn: Is this a safety issue?

Okay 2 nights ago I was taking some ExcedrinPM. I poured a glass of cola from a 2 litter bottle of Pepsi Cola.  I mistakenly put the Pepsi Cola cap on the supposedly "Child-Resistant" bottle of ExcedrinPM. The cap went on Perfectly!  I was shocked...  For amusement, I then put the ExcedrinPM cap on the 2 liter of Pepsi Cola and it made the Pepsi Cola bottle "Child-Resistant".

Image attached of the ExcedrinPM bottle w/ the Pepsi cola cap.  By the way, it appears that any type of a cola bottle cap will fit on an ExcedrinPM bottle and make it "Not Child Resistant"...

Please forward this to as many people as possible, "especially parents with kids..." Knowledge is Power!
