My Weekend at Woodbury

I’d been thinking about blogging and how I haven’t been blogging and then my dad mentioned it to me this weekend saying he’s bored he needs me to blog. Thank goodness for him I had some weekend adventures.

I attended a wedding with TGIS this weekend and the site of the wedding just happened to be where Sweet Home Alabama was filmed. Well parts of it anyways. This gave me the GREAT idea to hunt down some of The Walking Dead locations on our Sunday. His parents live in Newnan so we figured we’d drop the kid off with them and go from there.

Right around the corner we hit up the site where the Governor pits Daryl and Merle against each other in a ZOMBIE filled arena. It was pretty cool. From there we decided to head to Senoia. On the way to Senoia we saw Barbie’s Beach on a road side. Apparently this guy just sets these Barbies out and it’s a thing. Happy he does, it was funny. We ate in Woodbury (not the real Woodbury, the made up Woodbury in Senoia) and saw some Walking Dead props (everything like the "wall" had been gated away or covered) and Fried Green Tomatoes locations.  From there we decided to quest out for the Prison. When we got on the line we were sent out to Griffin (30 minutes from where we were in the middle of no man’s land with absolutely NO cell reception) to a tiny little “prison”, West Georgia Correctional Facility (or something like that). Turns out this was NOT the prison location. The prison location is actually on site at the Raleigh Studios which was where we were, in Senoia. Regardless, it’s not about the destination it’s the adventure and we did see where Merle had his last drink and we did happen upon the real Woodbury and we had a good time.

We had some time to kill so on the way back we hit up Senoia Race Way. We went through a path, that I don’t think we were suppose to take, through a gate, that I don’t think was suppose to be open, and through the grass that I’m happy my car made it through. I had to pee and I didn’t have my Go Girl  (that you can now get at target) so with some advice from TGIS and his (female) cousin I decided to prop my bottom up against a ticket booth (a good ways away from where we were standing) and go for it. I did have napkins in my glove box after all. So, I’m out there, doin my thing and I hear a car coming. My first thought is “OH shit someone’s coming to tell us we’re not supposed to be down here” but I look back and it’s TGIS hauling ASS to my pissing location HONKING, totes messing with me. Now I’m laughing so hard I can’t finish. I finally do finish and ha.ha.ha look at me trying to pee on a ticket booth.

We finished up the day with dinner at The Alamo, which according to TGIS’s mother Daryl and Carole have been spotted hanging out here, the pizza was fabulous, TGIS snuck some pineapples on half because he knew I liked them, and walking through a house that I have to own next door to his parent’s house. The weekend was fun, spent with good adventures and good peoples. Hopes to do it again soon.

Adventures with TGIS

The other night the guy I’m seeing (TGIS) asked me to accompany him in picking up a mower he’d purchased off of craigslist in downtown Roswell. As you do I got the urge to go potty half way there, but didn't want to be that guy and make him stop (thank you water). When we pulled up he said he had to go really bad and I was happy because I wasn't the only one.

After shooting the shit with the seller of the mower, blah blah blah, he had a great property and OWNED CHICKENS, we were finally on our way out to find a gas station to relieve ourselves. As we’re turning around I spotted a porto and said, “well we could just go here” to which he thought about for a second then decided not to saying “I don’t do portos”. After me giving him shit for a while about “not doing portos” as if he was too good for a porto and I will just go anywhere when I gots to go, he admits he didn't want to make me use a porto (aw how sweet).

We pull into a shell, and thank goodness we passed on the porto because, there’s this amazing fish tank in there. Not only do they have this fish tank that I’m snapping all kinds of pictures of, they have a growler/bar. The.Best.Gas.Station.In.Ever.

Fast forward a couple of days and I’m getting ready to head out to the beach for the family vacation, all while watching my brother and sister-in-law’s Great Dane, Bruce. The guy I’m seeing (TGIS) came to hang out, do dinner, movie and a sleep over (we’re all adults here). He had a craving for Taco Bell, which he never has (apparently) and this is actually fine by me because I hate to admit it but I love taco bell and it’s been a while since I've allowed myself to have it.

I got this new Cantina Bell burrito  and it, for starters was HUGE and B. it was so good. I hate you taco bell for making crap food taste so good. I didn't even feel like crap after eating it. Maybe it’s because I didn't eat the whole thing. Lunch today! I have a feeling I probably will feel round two (the left overs) later.
