My Journey’s: Enough Not to Renew

My sister was reading one of “My Journeys” last night. She read about one that I’d taken to the Meehans, when she told me that I brought so many dates up there that it was a constant joke between her and the other servers.

That brings me to another Match.com guy…Whom I took to Meehans. “M” had one picture up. And it was one of those where you really couldn’t tell if he was cute or not. Still I agreed to a date. We sat at the bar at the Meehans. Over a couple of beers he continued on about his job, he worked for himself where he produced energy saving products. As well he continued on and on about the end of the world and how he wanted to move to the country and build an under ground living area. I was invited…Um ok. Upon leaving he wouldn’t stop talking to me at my car. It was rather annoying for I was ready to go home. I think it was an hour before I finally got in my car and on my merry way.

I don’t like to talk about the end of times, but still he was decent enough (maybe it was the beers deciding) so I agreed to another date. For the second “date” he wanted to go to Dave & Busters. So, we did the thing where we each got a meal and we each got a $10 game card for a flat rate. When he got the bill he seemed annoyed it was so much. This annoyed me because he knew along how much it was going to be. All the same we enjoyed ourselves pretty well playing games. I kicked his butt in hoops (because I’m just that good at hoops) and he was sour about it. We cashed in our tickets and got some lame toys, which later I would throw away. Still it was a pretty good time. I try to make the most of any date.

Again, time came to leave and he wanted to sit in the parking lot and chat for hours. I think it was 2 hours this time. I just wanted to get home. When I got home I got a text from “M”. He told me I was not to wear the shirt I was wearing around him again because it made him look at my boobs. Come again? This offended me. By this time I was done with him, but he kept on with the texts. Something about how he wanted to kiss me but was too chicken shit to do so, thank goodness! And how next time we needed to go somewhere closer to him. Well you’re the one who picked this place “M”. It wasn’t that close for me either.

For the next week the texts kept coming. I was doing a little of ignoring and being civil at the same time before I had to tell him that I was just not that interested and wished him luck. To which he replied with anger! He said something along the lines of me not being interested in a relationship right now but I still had my profile up. I didn’t have to dignify that shit with an answer, but I did by saying that I’d paid for my profile so of course it was up. Eventually I just stopped replying to his angry texts. I mean I’d only met the guy twice. And he was enough to turn me off from Match.com. When my subscription was up I didn’t renew.

I Am Lost and Weird Without You Here

If you’re wondering why all the sudden I’ve been posting so much, it’s because I found out people are actually reading this thing. Some chose NOT to follow me (the nerve) but still people are reading this blog against my better judgment of telling them not to do so.

Either way, thanks to all my dear followers and readers. You make me proud.

My Journey's: Paying the Tab Can Be an Awkward Situation...

This one comes from my days on Match.com. I am having another episode where I can't remember his name so we'll just not even mention a name. He was my very first online dating experience. Nothing really to write home about however, I still chose to write about it here on my ever so popular blog.

I was attracted to him because the guy rode a motorcycle. Doesn't take much to hook my attention when you post a picture of yourself on a bike! So, we started to talk and eventually decided to meet. I was so nervous that I opted to have him meet me at the bar my sister was working at. Lame I know, but poppin my online dating cherry I didn't know what else to do. First, he got lost. Poor thing. Second, when he walked in the door he was short. If you know me you know I like em tall. But no matter I guess he was a bit taller than me. The date went ok. We talked over a couple of brews. Eventually time came to pay the tab and guess what? I paid it. Excuse is I was too quick to get the tab and I didn't want any awkward "no I'll pay...no I'll pay". All the same I paid. As you'll notice I give pretty much every one a chance and sometimes even a second. I think of these guys as "leads". So, I agreed to a second date.

New at this thing I suggested the Mad I for our second date. As you do, I just feel more comfortable in my surroundings where I know people. My beff works there so needless to say we got hooked up big time. All our beers were free as well as my dinner. So, tell me why did this guy only tip my friend $2.00? I was so put out by this I ignored all future attempts of contact. Call me weird or whatever you want to, but I just think that's rude. The tab was $10.00. Sure maybe 15% on $10 is right around a $2.00 tip. However all he was charged for was his spaghetti. He drove a very nice car, had another nice car at home, has a bike, a good job and dressed well, but he can't tip more than $2.00 on a $10.00 tab that should be over $30? Something here just doesn't add up to me.

Readers, I've posted a poll under "My Followers". Please participate.

Status of My Online Dating Hiatus

Dating got a bit exhausting so I had to take a Hiatus. Still, however, I’ve been checking my inbox regularly to weed out the weirdos. Along with a couple of seemingly hopeful leads (I guess we all do get busy with you know “life”) I had a message from an old friend. It’s funny how many familiar faces I see on okc. People I’ve dated, whom I didn’t meet on okc, one of his best friends (which also turned out to be my recent ex’s new girlfriend’s ex. Strange), someone I got in a fight with at a bar (back in my hay day) and now friends from high school.

I guess he hasn’t been on for long, but he’s got the okc blues. I’ve been trying to give him some words of encouragement, but it’s hard when I’ve been where he’s at. I told another mutual friend of this and she said she’d had a crush on him back in the day. She’s married now, but all the same she told me I should go out with him. I never really thought of him like this and I doubt he thinks of me like this. He’s a nice guy. Attractive. Smart. Fun. More importantly he has a job. But I don’t really see myself dating him. In all honestly I like em tall and he’s just a bit on the short side.

I told him to take his time, dive in head first (I do refer to okc as a pool) and go to them. I do wish him luck. I guess it’s easy to get aggravated. I do. I just have to keep telling myself that there is a plan for me and it’ll happen when it happens. Look forward and not back. I’m just really inpatient and wish it were sooner than later ;)

I leave you with a blurb from my daily horoscope: “Keep in mind that there’s no right or wrong when connecting with your feelings, even if you think that you should keep your desires hidden. Instead of slipping into denial, just tone down your style a bit.”

The End.

Yeah I’m Actually Watching Bad Girls Club: New Orleans

Initially I started watching the new Bad Girls Club for two reasons. One, my bestie would not stop texting me about the events going on in the very first episode. Two, when she mentioned it was in New Orleans and voodoo dolls were lead characters I thought, “I have to get on this”. So I recorded the first episodes re-run. I just knew I couldn’t watch an entire episode on live tv. Gotta be able to fast forward.

I thought it would be better to just list the text messages shared between my bestie and I last night as I was watching this episode. It starts off 17 days prior to the actual move in date of all 7 bad bitches. It’s been 17 days and these bitches are fighting to the blood already. On to the text messages:

Me: Just got back from kickball. I recorded bad girls club gonna watch it now.

Bestie: Hah awesome

Me: “My voodoo dawl”. Hahaha. You didn’t tell me it was life sized!

Bestie: Yeah! Hahahha

Me. Go go dancer…bitch yous a stripper

Bestie: No she’s not!

Me: You rock a stripper pole yous a stripper. Go go dancer, what?

Me: Is this really happening? The Les is mad that “human voodoo dawl lover”  met a guy at the bar? “You need to be with the family”. Bitch please

Bestie: I know, get over it!

Me: “The family the family” they are going at it already. I knew that voodoo dawl was gonna be the object of some drama

Bestie: It gets even worse!

Me: These bitches are crazy. One I don’t think anyone is jello of Juli. She says “voodoo dawl” and is carrying it around like it’s her best friend. It’s a life sized DOLL. Two I think I’ll like the Lessy and Pracilla, she’s got my shirt yo.

Bestie: I don’t hate anyone yet. Voodoo girl is nuts but she made me laugh.

Me: She said Pricilla was crazy for fighting the voodoo dawl (playfully) but she’s getting angry when Pricilla touches it. Yeah that makes sense. They put voodoo dolls in the toilet…not good.

Me: I’m glad production companies waste so much money putting these bitches in a nice ass place and supply them with food so they can ruin it.

Me: “She reminds me of my friends from back home. Back in Tuscaloosa a lot of my friends are black or whatever” hahaha! Dumb ass bitch.

Bestie: Hah yeah like wow you know black ppl, you down!

This was all in about 20 minutes time. The show continued on with a lot of bickering and light to not so light physical fighting. Resulted in 3 girls having to stay in a hotel (on the FIRST night) and Juli continuing to talk trash and ruin another girls bed. The bitch broke a glass and put it on this girls bed. I mean wow. She a bad ass bitch.

I’ll definitely keep up with the drama for the rest of the season. It’s in New Orleans! One of my favorite cities. And it involves voodoo “dawls”, fighting and lots of bickering. You really can’t go wrong.

My Journey's: You Decide, Do You Think I Am High Maintenance?

I've spoken a good deal of my on going experiences with okc and numerous encounters (and or dates). I've also touched on how my dad is continuously calling me high maintenance. "My Journey's" are something that I enjoy writing about so here comes another one from the archives.

This one is about a recent ending of a some what interesting fellow I met on okc. I DO remember his name, but if it's all the same to you we'll call him "A". From the very beginning I was enticed by his striking good looks. His pictures were easy on the eyes and he had a lip piercing that I thought was so hot. Our first date was amazing. It resulted in him asking me to be his Facebook friend. Just a word of advice, don't accept friendships on fb until things are official. Our second date was just as fun. He took me to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the theater up the street. I hadn't seen it since childhood. I thought this was so cool. Things seemed like they were finally working out for me on okc. A stroke of luck I thought I had, but It didn't last long.

The point of this particular story is, "A" was kind of a train wreck. First he lived on his brother's couch. Not even with his parents which I've been known to let slide. But ON HIS BROTHER'S COUCH! He eventually did get his own place but still. Second he couldn't drive. I thought this was because of a condition. If by condition I thought 3 DUI's then I was right. Turns out he had a car, a nice car in fact, and he got mad when his step dad drove it around. Well that's what you get for being a dumb ass and getting 3 DUI's. This should of been a deal breaker. There are other things that came up while dating, but some things are not for this blog.

"A" basically had no direction. He worked at a bar and late nights came with the territory. Which is fine I just can't hang like that. Not anymore. It became noticeable rather quickly that we didn't have as much in common as I thought. I guess I was drawn to him because of his looks and interest in cartoons (as I'm huge on cartoons). This will be a lesson to me for the future. It lasted for about a month and for the best it has been over for a while now.

Get It Together Mail Man

Usually our mail man arrives around 11:30. So, by the time I go to get the mail at noon it's ready to go. Lately they've been off track. It seems they're coming later. I have co-workers asking me constantly "have you gotten the mail yet?". I'm trying!

This causes many trips up and down the elevator, which you know I just love. Not only does this make for a long ride, but also an uncomfortable one. I have to make up ways to avoid from looking at the person(s) riding the elevator with me. Or looking at my self too much in the mirrors. Usually they'll get off at 4 or 5, but sometimes they don't get off until 10 or 11. This bothers me. I'm also lazy and don't like having to get up from my desk to keep going down 12 flights to get the mail. It's such a chore.

I've been down to get the mail 3 times today. 3 times in 4 hours. Still no mail. So, I have to go again. Pray for me.
