This one comes from my days on Match.com. I am having another episode where I can't remember his name so we'll just not even mention a name. He was my very first online dating experience. Nothing really to write home about however, I still chose to write about it here on my ever so popular blog. I was attracted to him because the guy rode a motorcycle. Doesn't take much to hook my attention when you post a picture of yourself on a bike! So, we started to talk and eventually decided to meet. I was so nervous that I opted to have him meet me at the bar my sister was working at. Lame I know, but poppin my online dating cherry I didn't know what else to do. First, he got lost. Poor thing. Second, when he walked in the door he was short. If you know me you know I like em tall. But no matter I guess he was a bit taller than me. The date went ok. We talked over a couple of brews. Eventually time came to pay the tab and guess what? I paid it. Excuse is I was too quick to get the tab and I didn't want any awkward "no I'll pay...no I'll pay". All the same I paid. As you'll notice I give pretty much every one a chance and sometimes even a second. I think of these guys as "leads". So, I agreed to a second date.
New at this thing I suggested the Mad I for our second date. As you do, I just feel more comfortable in my surroundings where I know people. My beff works there so needless to say we got hooked up big time. All our beers were free as well as my dinner. So, tell me why did this guy only tip my friend $2.00? I was so put out by this I ignored all future attempts of contact. Call me weird or whatever you want to, but I just think that's rude. The tab was $10.00. Sure maybe 15% on $10 is right around a $2.00 tip. However all he was charged for was his spaghetti. He drove a very nice car, had another nice car at home, has a bike, a good job and dressed well, but he can't tip more than $2.00 on a $10.00 tab that should be over $30? Something here just doesn't add up to me.
Readers, I've posted a poll under "My Followers". Please participate.
Did you leave more money for the tip? I would have made a point to do that right in front of him. I mean not only did your friend hook you guys up on the drinks and food....but you also paid the tab on the 1st date! What a cheapo.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any cash so I just told my friend I'd get him back.
