Back to My Bad Obsession

Last year I read a book about a man who left Scientology. I've been against Scientology since I figured out what it was. I get on these kicks where I'll read something about it then I just can't stop. I get obsessed with it.

So, my bestie sent me a text last night with a picture of a book called "Inside Scientology". She was asking if I'd read it. I haven't, but it's now in my wish list. Per researching the book I came across an interview with the author. She says something in her interview that I actually thought while reading "Blown for Good". In my own words: The "religion" itself was based on very good ideas, but Dave Miscavige has taken it to a new level. A level I can't get behind. In the author's words: Scientology will never evolve, they stay the same. So things won't get better.

I can understand the appeal the "church" has. Life betterment. My grandmother's father was into Dianetics. It's not the idea that I am against, it's the treatment and the thought process of these "followers". If you tell me that you are the only person who can help if you drive by an accident on the road (because you're a scientologist) I think you're not only an idiot but an asshole. I'm quite sure Paramedics can beg to differ. Forced abortions, hard labor, little to no pay for a 16+ hour work day...The negative treatment is endless. This is not an "idea" or a "religion". This is abuse and a very sad excuse for "religion". Let us not forget where all of this comes from...Xenu. An alien came down to earth (Teegeeack) blew it up and next thing you know we're known as thetans (with negative thoughts in our heads). Is it just me or does it sound like L. Ron was high when he wrote this?

Just another reason why I hate today's celebrities. Society gives them no sense of self and no consequences. I think they are easily influenced and drawn to Scientology for that very reason. I can't help but think these people are total idiots. It's really hard for me to sit down and watch a movie or a tv show with a scientologist in it.

In conclusion that Dave Miscavige probably has the worst case of "little man complex" I have ever heard of. Not to mention he is drunk off power. Some of these people don't have a choice, but some do. Educate yourself people!

Viewing The Little Mermaid As a Child vs. As an Adult

As a little girl The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite movies. I loved Ariel and how she combed her long beautiful red hair with a fork. Most importantly I loved her song, Part of Your World. To this day that song is on my playlist.

As an adult I look at this movie, and hear that song, differently. It's still one of my favorites, but I have trouble with it's message. To me it seems it's gearing kids to not be excepting of their own life. Like, Ariel, wants nothing more but to be a human. So much that she's willing to give up her entire family and all she's ever known for some prince she's seen once. I mean I get it, it's a cartoon and she's a princess with a controlling protective king for a dad, but aren't we suppose to be teaching kids to be happy with themselves and not the other way around?

As a kid I wanted to be Ariel. Her hair was perfect always. She was a princess and her father was king of the sea. She had the most beautiful voice of all her sisters. She was the shit in my eyes. But she wanted to be me. If by me I mean that a hansom prince fell in love with me, then yeah me. Really she wanted to be human. By the end she got what she wanted and gave up her life as a mermaid. I struggle with this because my family and I are really close. I don't think I could give all that up.

The Point Behind the Railroad Background

I grew up across the street from Railroad tracks. The loud choo choo and shaking of the house was a regular occurrence that we were all use to. It was like we didn't even notice.

Something else that was regular for me growing up was to go to the tracks and place pennies on them. I guess back then my parents were none the wiser because even now, as an adult, if I speak of doing this my mom gets frantic.

Not too far back my parents moved directly onto the train tracks. I mean there is a fence, but behind that is the track. I secretly wanted them to cut a hole in the fence so we could crawl through and visit child hood memories. Back in the day we'd have to cross the street, crawl up a bridge and through some shrub. A couple months ago there was a brush fire that took down most of my parents fence and back yard. It was a sad sight, but the train tracks were very visible. Right before they started to rebuild my dad and I walked the tracks and put some  pennies (one for each of us kiddos) on the tracks. It was nice.

They didn't put the door to the tracks in the fence as I requested * sigh *

Tubin the Hooch

A friend, and or kickball buddy, had his bday celebration floating down the hooch. I’d been wanting to do this so when I was invited I was like HELL YES I’m in! The day of it was looking a bit gloomy. Other than the fact that it rained on us for the first hour and the water was FREEZING (most of our butts were numb within 2 minutes) it was a really nice trip. The water was actually really pretty, there was a nice fog over the water, we had beach bolls to play with (that we kept loosing. It became more of a game to retrieve the balls instead of keeping them in the air) and eventually we did get some sun. It was a lot of fun. Definitely something I would like to do again.

My Journey’s: Enough Not to Renew

My sister was reading one of “My Journeys” last night. She read about one that I’d taken to the Meehans, when she told me that I brought so many dates up there that it was a constant joke between her and the other servers.

That brings me to another Match.com guy…Whom I took to Meehans. “M” had one picture up. And it was one of those where you really couldn’t tell if he was cute or not. Still I agreed to a date. We sat at the bar at the Meehans. Over a couple of beers he continued on about his job, he worked for himself where he produced energy saving products. As well he continued on and on about the end of the world and how he wanted to move to the country and build an under ground living area. I was invited…Um ok. Upon leaving he wouldn’t stop talking to me at my car. It was rather annoying for I was ready to go home. I think it was an hour before I finally got in my car and on my merry way.

I don’t like to talk about the end of times, but still he was decent enough (maybe it was the beers deciding) so I agreed to another date. For the second “date” he wanted to go to Dave & Busters. So, we did the thing where we each got a meal and we each got a $10 game card for a flat rate. When he got the bill he seemed annoyed it was so much. This annoyed me because he knew along how much it was going to be. All the same we enjoyed ourselves pretty well playing games. I kicked his butt in hoops (because I’m just that good at hoops) and he was sour about it. We cashed in our tickets and got some lame toys, which later I would throw away. Still it was a pretty good time. I try to make the most of any date.

Again, time came to leave and he wanted to sit in the parking lot and chat for hours. I think it was 2 hours this time. I just wanted to get home. When I got home I got a text from “M”. He told me I was not to wear the shirt I was wearing around him again because it made him look at my boobs. Come again? This offended me. By this time I was done with him, but he kept on with the texts. Something about how he wanted to kiss me but was too chicken shit to do so, thank goodness! And how next time we needed to go somewhere closer to him. Well you’re the one who picked this place “M”. It wasn’t that close for me either.

For the next week the texts kept coming. I was doing a little of ignoring and being civil at the same time before I had to tell him that I was just not that interested and wished him luck. To which he replied with anger! He said something along the lines of me not being interested in a relationship right now but I still had my profile up. I didn’t have to dignify that shit with an answer, but I did by saying that I’d paid for my profile so of course it was up. Eventually I just stopped replying to his angry texts. I mean I’d only met the guy twice. And he was enough to turn me off from Match.com. When my subscription was up I didn’t renew.

I Am Lost and Weird Without You Here

If you’re wondering why all the sudden I’ve been posting so much, it’s because I found out people are actually reading this thing. Some chose NOT to follow me (the nerve) but still people are reading this blog against my better judgment of telling them not to do so.

Either way, thanks to all my dear followers and readers. You make me proud.

My Journey's: Paying the Tab Can Be an Awkward Situation...

This one comes from my days on Match.com. I am having another episode where I can't remember his name so we'll just not even mention a name. He was my very first online dating experience. Nothing really to write home about however, I still chose to write about it here on my ever so popular blog.

I was attracted to him because the guy rode a motorcycle. Doesn't take much to hook my attention when you post a picture of yourself on a bike! So, we started to talk and eventually decided to meet. I was so nervous that I opted to have him meet me at the bar my sister was working at. Lame I know, but poppin my online dating cherry I didn't know what else to do. First, he got lost. Poor thing. Second, when he walked in the door he was short. If you know me you know I like em tall. But no matter I guess he was a bit taller than me. The date went ok. We talked over a couple of brews. Eventually time came to pay the tab and guess what? I paid it. Excuse is I was too quick to get the tab and I didn't want any awkward "no I'll pay...no I'll pay". All the same I paid. As you'll notice I give pretty much every one a chance and sometimes even a second. I think of these guys as "leads". So, I agreed to a second date.

New at this thing I suggested the Mad I for our second date. As you do, I just feel more comfortable in my surroundings where I know people. My beff works there so needless to say we got hooked up big time. All our beers were free as well as my dinner. So, tell me why did this guy only tip my friend $2.00? I was so put out by this I ignored all future attempts of contact. Call me weird or whatever you want to, but I just think that's rude. The tab was $10.00. Sure maybe 15% on $10 is right around a $2.00 tip. However all he was charged for was his spaghetti. He drove a very nice car, had another nice car at home, has a bike, a good job and dressed well, but he can't tip more than $2.00 on a $10.00 tab that should be over $30? Something here just doesn't add up to me.

Readers, I've posted a poll under "My Followers". Please participate.
