Reasons I Love Facebook

Weird Dreams Again Last Night
Last night I dreamt of my
grandmother, Nanny. She had grown her hair out long, a little bit past her
shoulders, and was smoking a cigarette. I tried to talk to her but I couldn’t
without crying. She said, “You always cry when you talk to me” she looked mad
or disappointed. I just thought, it’s because I miss my grandfather so much.
I Can Be Such A Hater
A couple of things that bother me at work:
Why would “bathroom girl” regularly come up to me
and say, “Hey, did I get anything from FedEx today?”…UM NO don’t I always tell
you when you receive a package? If it means that much to you, have the FedEx
guy call YOU when your packages arrive. No need for a middleman cut me out.
Then she follows it up with an email, “let me know when my package arrives
ASAP”…Again I ALWAYS DO!
People are constantly walking in and out of the
door (that is right behind me). It’s loud! There is constant commotion behind
my cube. Whether it is the morning/mid day/afternoon chit chatter that
congregates literally RIGHT BEHIND ME or just people having NOTHING better to
do other than walk up and down the halls RIGHT BEHIND ME! I seriously think
this one rep just has nothing better to do other than look for his palls and
chit chat. Don’t these people understand I’m trying to slack off, internet and
blog? Privacy please! It’s just constant traffic behind my cube. I
swear people aren’t working; they are finding excuses to get up and walk
around.
Everyone is always coughing or clearing their
throats around me. Mr. Coughy not only coughs and clears his throat every other
second, I’m not exaggerating, but he’s just a loud talker. He has an office so
he could totally shut his door. A research team member moved next to me because
it was too loud near her and she too is constantly clearing her throat. The new
guy, whom is totes frat-tastic, drives me up the wall. He is making calls for
our research team and it’s like listening to nails on a chalkboard. NAILS ON A
CHALKBOARD! The guy is not only pushy, but he stutters and does NOT go off the
script! Non-sense. His voice and banter on these calls is putrid to my ear
holes. Work forbid he be sitting at his desk when there’s a conversation going
on near him. He gets up, walks to it and butts himself right into the
conversation. And far be it for anyone to bless me after I sneeze. So rude, I
bless people, but I never get a bless you!

Because When You Turn 30 You’re Old
A friend and I decided that we wanted to put
something creative together for a couple of our male friends turning 30 this
past weekend. After throwing back a few ideas we finally decided on a basket
full of…things…We wanted it to be funny but classy.
We started off with these simple ingredients:
(1) Men’s Health Magazine, added pluses - the
gorgeous Zac Efron was on the May issue and who doesn’t go mad over Zac Efron?
Male or Female? It had an add for Nuts on the back with the headline “Nut’s
Health” which I thought was hilarial.
(2) Foam bottles of Rogaine, for laughs.
(2) Werther’s Originals, because old people always
have these on hand.
(2) Tums with breath freshener, because as we get
older we have to get rid of that heartburn that always be creepin up messin
with our party style.
(4) On-the-Go, party to poolside, Wine packets.
Yeah we totally did and they are awesome.
(6) Dewars liquor bottles, an apparent fave of the
30th up and comers.
(2) Wallet armbands, because we’re old and we loose
stuff, this won’t make it so easy. (thrown in by my twin sissy)
(1) Basket.
Fill the basket with some paper as filler and you
got yourself a GIFT!
From the very beginning we wanted to do a 30 shape
with pictures. I didn’t have as many as I liked, but I did find some classics
and put them into a 30 template (as good as I possibly could). They seemed to
like it. I glued that onto a ribbon and tied that around the outside of the
basket.

Some Traditions Just Don't Hold True...For Me
I’m super superstitious (stupersticious). I kiss
the roof of my car when I go under a yellow light, I don’t use white lighters
(plain white), if you were to send me a chain letter saying I was to send to 15
people or else someone I loved would die I would obey and I ALWAYS kiss the
clock on same digits times (speaking of which, what time is it?).
I’ve gotten better, but I still conform to these
silly rituals on a daily basis. Even after certain traditional superstitions don’t
hold true. I caught the bouquet at my brother and sissy in law’s wedding. The
traditional superstition says the one to catch the bouquet will be the next to
get married. Well wouldn’t it be just my luck that I’ve been single for 3 years
and have watched a ton of friends wed since I caught this bouquet?

Gardening...Is Not My Thing But...
Boy did our yard need some work! It was totally
over grown with some, pretty, but out of control shrub bush. I enlisted the
help of my mother, because my Auntie was busy, and we set forth to getting our
area in order. Started in the AM and ended in the PM with legs hurtin up until
now, 5 days later.
We spent most of our time pulling out bushes, but
eventually got to plant. I don’t know how it’ll turn out but I’m excited to see
the result. I know that I probably won’t get to see the Cilantro, Lavender and
Billy Buttons I planted until the year 2014. But I think it’ll be well worth
the wait *Fingers Crossed*. We also planted some Basil, Lemon Balm (for
dem cold sores) and a pretty pink/green plant that Sissy picked out.
It's Been A While
Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve last blogged. I
guess I just haven’t had the patience to write. I always have a lot on my mind,
and sometimes even a lot going on, but am too lazy or unmotivated to think it
into something interesting to blog. That being said, I’m happy I now have 14 followers
: ) I don’t know how it happened, but it makes me happy.
I can give a run down of things that have been
going on with me. 1) I’ve been slowly but surely reading the book that Gypsy
gave me for Baptism. It’s very inspiring. The older I’ve gotten I’ve realized I
haven’t been as thankful for the little things, that God gives, that I should
be and how easy it is to forget. I’m trying to be thankful every day. For the
little things, and I’ve started my list of 1000 gifts. It’s amazing realizing
the little things around you that you are to be thankful for. It puts things in
perspective. I know there have been times when I’ve felt sorry for myself, but
there’s really no reason to ever feel that way. Look around. Life is pretty
damn good! 2) I’ve had an up hill battle with my hair. I bought a 2-1
straighter and curler. All my life I’ve wanted curly hair, but God did not
grace me with that gift. He did however grace me with the tools to manipulate
my hair to do so (note: 1000 gift entry – a curling iron). I wasn’t using it
right. For a month I would put these curls in my hair and 30 minutes later they
were dead flat. I’ve figured it out and I think I got it right. I love my curls...when they stick (note: 1000 gift entry – curls). 3) This will be the last because I do
everything in sets of 3’s. I’ve got an exciting month coming up. May brings the Savage Family Reunion, a birthday party and a shower. I’ll be helping out my
Aunt at the reunion this weekend. I’m racking my brain to figure out a “boy’s”
silly creative gift and working hard at putting together a “photo booth” for
the shower. I’m so excited about the photo booth. I hope it works out.
With all that said it’s going to be a busy month.
Let us not forget Mother’s Day. My mother is so great and good, almost to a
fault at times. I’ve got to think of something to show her how much I
appreciate her.
