Thank God I’m a Terrible Speller!

I almost really f’d up this afternoon. Typically after lunch I get really busy. I don’t know if it’s because everyone finally decides to start working (including myself) or if everyone just decides to be difficult...Either way after lunch I get busy and today followed suit with the phone ringing off the hook, someone asking me to scan something for them and sales reps not doing their job.

I got an order this morning that was quite confusing. I emailed the rep and in typical sales rep fashion didn't hear back so this customer has been waiting for their access and hasn't gotten it. Finally after lunch I get in touch with the rep and I’m copied on an email with the customer. I replied to the email with something smart ass intended for the rep, but thank God for spell check because had I not been asked if ONE word was spelled correctly that email would of gone to the customer NOT the rep.

My heart stopped beating for a second and I got a flash back of when I first started here and I copied everyone on an email that was intended for just one person. How could I be so careless? It is finally revealed to me why I've struggled with bad spelling all my life. It was for this very day!

My Journey’s: Oh No He Just Didn't…

Because it’s been a while and you know how I love to talk about my "dates" I thought I’d share this one!

It wasn't a date really, it was more like a gathering and I met this guy through friends. Over beers and dinner after kickball we got to talking. It wasn't long before this came out of his mouth, “You know I don’t want anything serious but if you’re down I’m down”, I looked at him confused and was thinking "um come again!?" but said, “excuse me?” I did actually know where he was going, and he says, “you know we could just have sex”. I mean I got the feeling he was into me, but damn! If you're going to come at me with interest come at me correct!

I immediately jumped on him with “so I’m good enough to F but I’m not good enough to be your girlfriend?” He’s all the sudden on the defense saying it came out wrong, and I’m thinking there’s no other way that could of be taken. Either way not.interested.

We’re still friends and he’s actually not that bad of a guy. You know how people say "men are stupid"? Well this one takes the cake when it comes to girls apparently.

The Trial and Tribulations of One Matt

He came up with that title I did not. I did however think it was funny at the time so it stays.

My kickball game last night…First off I didn't want to go because I didn't feel like playing in the rain and mud, but it wasn't raining when I left work so I thought I'd go (I told my captain I "may" not be able to make it and he tells me "let me know when you know for sure". Fucker didn't put me on the roster and made a big deal about me being there! I was like DUDE I said I "may" and you told me to "let you know" I didn't say I was "for sure” not coming! And he puts this one girl on the roster EVERY WEEK even though she works late and usually makes it the LAST inning, but whatever he's a douche).

So it starts raining as soon as we hit the field and it's only getting worse and worse! I run up to my car to put my phone in there (and my buddy’s who I'd given a ride to) so they don't get wet and by the time I make it back down to the field the other team (whom we've played before, they're good and their douches) had scored 6 runs on us! In all of 2 minutes! We WERE up by 1. I'm seeing a lot of plays being called by the ref that are in the other teams favor and NONE in ours. I mean it was kind of obvious and I'm being vocal about it as is the rest of my team. Typically I'd call my team a bunch of douches for doing this but they were justified last night.

We get our at bat and we get a runner on first, then another runner on first to put the first runner on second. HE WAS SAFE, but the ref called him out (at second) and my teammate was like NO I WAS SAFE and the whole other team was like yeah he's out (liars!). It turns into a bit of a vocal match and the ref approaches my teammate and says "your out blah blah blah" and my teammate is like "no" and he just stands on the base. Eventually he picks up the base and throws it and tells the ref F U and calls the other team a bunch of liars. The ref tells him that he's ejected (like whatever ref) and my teammate has to leave.  This is the same teammate whom I’d given a ride to so I had to leave as well. Which was fine by me because I was soaking wet and cold.

It’s one thing to play in the cold ass rain when you have a fighting chance, but last night WAS NOT fun. I mean that ref was being a major douche and the other team was running all over us.

To Do’s in 2013

Last year I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish in 2012. I thought why not follow suit for 2013, for it’s always slow at the beginning of the year for me (and depressing due to the holidays being over) and I’m having trouble finding things to write about. I gotta keep my dear readers entertained, so here goes:

Get out of Debt! I’m so close and I keep picturing a celebration outing when it’s all taken care of. And I am aware this was number one on last year’s list.
See a Hypnotist. This is happening! I’m 31 years old and this superstitious stuff is getting old. Aint nobody got time for that! Really, it’s holding me back.
Re-Do our kitchen. I've set a plan in motion by adding things to my wish list. I just need some happy helpers :) because it’s going to be a do-it-yourself.

I've taken a look at last year’s list and some things I want to keep up with, some I accomplished and others I’m still working on.  I’d still like to eat better, go camping and paint my walls. As well not take life so seriously and let things happen as they happen. Trust in people and in God more. Patient and Trust, these are things I have trouble with, so I want to work on that. And finally, I’d like to make it memorable.

This is My Life

Sunday I went shopping (gift returning) with my mother, sissy and aunt after church. Upon picking up my aunt she gets in the car and says to me “girl did you go to church like that”, I say, “yes…” and she says, “you have a zit there and there, you need to have more sex”.

My sexcapades are none of my aunts never mind but damn she called me out one, two WTF!? I’d never heard that if you lack sex you’d break out. Truth be told, yeah it had been a while, but it was also that time of the month and I always breakout during that time. So, thankyouverymuch.

Damn I’m Good!

Serialously! SPOILER ALERT if you’re watching American Horror Story.

The last episode I watched of AHS proved to me that I am so good it’s scary. A couple episodes ago there was a call to the police and I swore the voice was that of Dylan McDermott. Ater one or two rewinds and asking my friend what she thought (she wasn't sure) I was pretty certain. THEN the following episode none other than Dylan McDermott makes his debut to this season.

I love Dylan (You’ll always be Jackson to me) and I’m so excited he’s back. Not only is he back he’s the f’ing character!

2012: Year in Review

One may ask can you put a year’s worth of events in one blog post? To that question I would answer, hells yes! The end of 2012 and the beginning of a New Year (assuming the mayans are wrong) is upon us and I can’t stop thinking about the past year and how I want to blog about it. Thank goodness I keep a log of everything I do on my calendar!

The year started off slow per usual. Typically after the holidays I get depressed, so what better way to cheer up then going to my brother and sister (in laws) and playing a game of Smart Ass? As well I never did get use to full work weeks after taking every Friday off in December.

My aunt and I took a Zumba class. I quite enjoyed it, but it was short lived (still looking to take another class Auntie).

I discovered that the band, The Quaildogs, I’d been blowing off were actually really good and now I’m a devout follower. Totes crushed on the lead singer and he started working at my kickball teams neighborhood bar! Talk about fate.

In February I started my quest to get baptized. With classes at night it was hard skipping Sunday dinners at the grandparents and I actually cried because I missed them, but at the end it was worth it.

I got a wisdom tooth taken out! Ick!

Still signing up for Kickball, still hot and cold about my team, still going to play in 2013.

At the end of March I started watching Bruce when my brother and sister (in law) went out of town.

In April The Daddy Daughter Trip continued on back to NOLA (without my older sissy, sads) for drinking at Pat O’s, walking the sketch smelly streets and SHOPPING! We stayed in a loft that was up 5 stories and had an attic as a bedroom, but it was right across the street from Brad and Angie so SCORE!

I was Baptized! I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but my grandparents, my Aunt, my sisters, mom and even my dad showed up for the event. Followed with lunch at Yeah Burger it was a blessed and happy day. And hello, I got GIFTS!

(Reading my calendar it seems I ate a lot of sushi and Ihop with my good friend Wes)

In June John hosted his first Murder Mystery Dinner. I was Bobby Sox (he will later host one for Halloween where I was Lizzie Bordeaux and looked rather sessy, if I do say so myself, thanks to a drear friend and coworker doing my make up).

After a short-lived hiatus, more OKC dates…

Went Tubing with coworkers. This is when I took a back flip tumble and scratched up my back to which I now have a scar.

More OKC dates…

This year the Family Vacation was also a Family Wedding with my Uncle doing the smartest thing he’s ever done and marrying his girlfriend Lori. Despite the fact that it rained most of our trip it was still beautiful. The beach is always beautiful because it’s the beach. Gypsy took off early to go to Italy, we missed her, but it was a great opportunity for her.

Wes took my sissy and I on our first nature walk to which we’re still saying we should do again. It’s nice to be able to wake up on a Sunday get coffee and bagels from Dunkin Donuts and take a nature walk. The world can be so glorious.

THE DARK NIGHT RISES special feature tickets!

Zentangle class with Auntie and I’m still Zentangling because I must admit I’m pretty damn good!

Sope Creek was another Wesley inspired Sunday outing.

TED!

And more OKC dates…

August I reconnected with an old friend whom I like and went on a date with a guy who made me go dutch on dinner and tried to not only get me to sleep with him but eat my face. The joys of dating continue.

Georgia football started in September. Went to the hottest and coldest game of the season.

Went to Dragon Con.

Unfortunately this year we lost a great man, the owner of my company.

Went to the FAIR! I love carnies. Though it was a bit of a flashback from this year at the beach when my brother wanted to ride a spinny ride. WHY!? Never again and I mean it this time. I still feel sick thinking about it. I’m gonna stick to the simple rides. AND YES FERRIS WHEELS SCARE ME!

October, I went to Michigan. I actually got on a plane and went out of the state of GA. It was so much fun and great reconnecting with old friends. I also turned 31.

A coworker offered up two tickets to see Heart at the Fox! I took my older sissy and we had a blast.

My brother started (assistant) coaching his school’s basketball team. I enjoy going to the games. I also enjoyed visiting him for lunch, eating a crispito and keeping it 100 when his class asked me if he was any good at basketball and if I was better.

I finally beat all the Star Worlds on our Wii Mario Brothers game with my good friend Poet. It only took us a year.

There's still a couple more weeks left in the month so there may be additions to this blog, but know this, last year for Christmas I got my Kindle and with an amazon.com gift card I bought The Night CircusI loved it and I’m going to read it again at the start of the New Year. Could we get a movie of this book already? This year I made coworkers into friends (without them I'd probably be unhappy and unemployed) made enemies into besties and reconnected with some really good people. I hope 2013 will follow suite.
