One may ask can you put a
year’s worth of events in one blog post? To that question I would answer, hells
yes! The end of 2012 and the beginning of a New Year
(assuming the mayans are wrong) is upon us and I can’t stop thinking about the
past year and how I want to blog about it. Thank goodness I keep a log of
everything I do on my calendar!
The
year started off slow per usual. Typically after the holidays I get depressed,
so what better way to cheer up then going to my brother and sister (in laws)
and playing a game of Smart Ass? As well I never did get use to full work weeks after taking every Friday off in December.
My aunt and I took a Zumba
class. I quite enjoyed it, but it was short lived (still looking to take
another class Auntie).
I discovered that the band, The Quaildogs, I’d been blowing off were actually really good
and now I’m a devout follower. Totes crushed on the lead singer and he started
working at my kickball teams neighborhood bar! Talk about fate.
In February I started my
quest to get baptized. With classes at night it was hard skipping Sunday
dinners at the grandparents and I actually cried because I missed them, but at
the end it was worth it.
I got a wisdom tooth taken out! Ick!
Still signing up for
Kickball, still hot and cold about my team, still going to play in 2013.
At the end of March I started watching Bruce
when my brother and sister (in law) went out of town.
In April The Daddy
Daughter Trip continued on back to NOLA (without my older sissy,
sads) for drinking at Pat O’s, walking the sketch smelly streets and SHOPPING!
We stayed in a loft that was up 5 stories and had an attic as a bedroom, but it
was right across the street from Brad and Angie so SCORE!
I was Baptized! I didn't think it was that big
of a deal, but my grandparents, my Aunt, my sisters, mom and even my dad showed up
for the event. Followed with lunch at Yeah Burger it was a blessed and
happy day. And hello, I got GIFTS!
(Reading my calendar it
seems I ate a lot of sushi and Ihop with my good friend Wes)
In June John hosted his first Murder Mystery
Dinner. I was Bobby Sox (he will later host one for Halloween where I
was Lizzie Bordeaux and looked rather sessy, if I do say so myself,
thanks to a drear friend and coworker doing my make up).
After a short-lived hiatus,
more OKC dates…
Went Tubing with
coworkers. This is when I took a back flip tumble and scratched up my back to
which I now have a scar.
More OKC dates…
This year the Family
Vacation was also a Family Wedding with my Uncle doing the smartest thing he’s
ever done and marrying his girlfriend Lori. Despite the fact that it rained
most of our trip it was still beautiful. The beach is always beautiful because
it’s the beach. Gypsy took off early to go to Italy, we missed her, but it was
a great opportunity for her.
Wes took my sissy and I on
our first nature walk to which we’re still saying we should do again. It’s nice
to be able to wake up on a Sunday get coffee and bagels from Dunkin Donuts and
take a nature walk. The world can be so glorious.
THE DARK NIGHT RISES special feature tickets!
Zentangle class with
Auntie and I’m still Zentangling because I must admit I’m pretty damn
good!
Sope Creek was another
Wesley inspired Sunday outing.
TED!
And more OKC dates…
August I reconnected with
an old friend whom I like and went on a date with a guy who made me go dutch on
dinner and tried to not only get me to sleep with him but eat my face. The joys
of dating continue.
Georgia football started
in September. Went to the hottest and coldest game of the season.
Went to Dragon Con.
Unfortunately this year we lost a great man, the
owner of my company.
Went to the FAIR! I love
carnies. Though it was a bit of a flashback from this year at the beach when my
brother wanted to ride a spinny ride. WHY!? Never again and I mean it this
time. I still feel sick thinking about it. I’m gonna stick to the simple rides.
AND YES FERRIS WHEELS SCARE ME!
October, I went to
Michigan. I actually got on a plane and went out of the state of GA. It was so
much fun and great reconnecting with old friends. I also turned 31.
A coworker offered up two
tickets to see Heart at the Fox! I took my older sissy and we had a
blast.
My brother started
(assistant) coaching his school’s basketball team. I enjoy going to the games.
I also enjoyed visiting him for lunch, eating a crispito and keeping it 100
when his class asked me if he was any good at basketball and if I was better.
I finally beat all the
Star Worlds on our Wii Mario Brothers game with my good friend Poet. It only
took us a year.
There's still a couple more weeks left in the month so there may be additions to this blog, but know this, last year for
Christmas I got my Kindle and with an amazon.com gift card I bought The Night Circus. I
loved it and I’m going to read it again at the start of the New Year. Could we
get a movie of this book already? This year I made coworkers into friends (without them I'd probably be unhappy and unemployed) made enemies into besties and reconnected with some really good people. I hope 2013 will follow suite.
