Three Things I Need Out of Project Runway

One: More Mondo
Two: More of the finished Project (therefore meaning LESS of all the bitching and moaning about each other)
Three: Less Heidi

Seriously! What kind of questions are, “Who do you think should go home this week” and “Who was the weakest link on your team”? Way to start drama bitch.

Things I Could of Done Differently

It wasn’t until I was around 17 that I got my own room at my Rent’s house. By that time I was ready to move out. See my big sister had a baby and for some reason, my niece, was always staying with my parents (after my sister moved out). I thought rather than waking up on my Saturday mornings to a screaming 5-year old I’d just move out and get a job. Yeah being up at 7am to be at my job and paying actual grown up bills instead of waking up to a screaming 5 year old…makes since right?

Could I have gone to college, probably. Could I have stayed and mooched off my parents for a little longer, yes. Do I regret this, sometimes, but I grew up and can’t regret things I chose in the past.  I wouldn’t give up those times in my apartment and our first house for the world. We had a lot of fun.

Still though, I hate going out on dates and hearing those questions, “what was your major in college” or “did you go to UGA”…How bout NO! I graduated from high school, moved out, said I’d always go back but I got a job and decided I was good where I was. In a perfect world I would have gone to college and studied photography or something I’m actually passionate about, but it is what it is.

Gasoline has Won Again

I needed gas about a week ago and decided I’d hit up the Shell near my house because you can save .10 cents per gallon (so they advertise) by using your Kroger Plus card. As I’ve discussed before there is a plethora of gas stations near my house…for some reason I always choose the most expensive one. I’m paying with cash so I pay first only to find out in order to use your Kroger plus card you need to enter its code FIRST. I get my gas only to drive up the street and another shell's gas is .06 cents cheaper. Gasoline = 2, Tara = 0.

This morning I needed gas (again) so I thought I’d try the Shell once more to save .10 cents. I decided to use my GasBuddy app so not to get screwed. My app says that the Shell on Peachtree Industrial has the cheapest gas. Fine, I’ll leave a bit early to go out of my way to save, theoretically around .20 (give or take) cents. When I arrived at the Shell it was CLOSED DOWN! All pumps “out of order”. Gasoline = 3, Tara = 0.

At this point I’ve given up on the shell and just need gas so decided to hit up the BP near my house, that is usually right around standard price of the others. When I approach I notice, duh, the Shell right next door to it and it’s cheaper than the Philips and Exxon across the street, so naturally I pull in and am ecstatic because I can use my Kroger plus and save an additional .10 cents! I do everything right, put in my Kroger plus ID first, go through the other prompts of payment and say “no” to a car wash (really what is with all this stuff these days? Why can’t I just pay for my gas and go? BP has a TV on their gas pumps now!). Then a message comes up that says “no credits received on your Kroger Plus card today” or something along those lines. I’m thinking “What! Why?” and a closer look at the advertisement says you have to EARN 1000 POINTS TO SAVE THE .10 CENTS! I am wowed! Gasoline = 4, Tara = 0.

All that driving around and trouble to save .10 cents and it turns out I’m not even eligible. Gasoline keeps winning, but I hope ONE day I will beat it!

Dream a Little Dream, Lost Boys, Carrie and Blake Lively

I am so awesome I barely know what to do with myself…at times. I bought Dream a Little Dream on DVD recently and finally got time (NOTHING on tv) to watch it last night. I love this movie, one of my all time favorites; in.love.with Corey Haim (RIP).

So, I’m watching this movie and when Coleman wakes up as Keller (Feldman) in his bed he is greeted by hawking parents and his beffy Dinger (Haim). Keller (actually Coleman) runs out because he’s like WTF am I doing here, who am I and where is my beloved wife! After he runs out his parents are stuck talking to (swoon) Dinger (Haim) and in the background you can see The Lost Boys poster. It's super quick and I almost missed it. I rewound, paused, took a pic and sent to my sissy as well as besty for clarification (praise). There was NO doubt in my mind it was in fact the vamps from The Lost Boys movie. Nice plug for the two Corey’s. Sissy and besty agreed but another friend of mine was skeptical. As I do I looked it up this morning and FOUND the exact poster! I am too good! For your comparison eyes I’ve made it the main picture of this blog.

Further watching of the movie, I’m questioning what else the lead character, Coleman’s, wife had been in. Seriously!..None other than the mother in Carrie. “Your dirty pillows are showin”!? Wow I’m good.

During the beginning credits I noticed a “Lively” in there. It seemed to me that Keller’s girlfriend in the movie had to be an offspring of the Lively (Blake Lively and Robyn Lively of another all time favorite “Teen Witch”, are half sibs) bunch. Upon further investigation however I think I’m wrong. She happens to be Haim’s actual girlfriend at the time.

Top That!

My Journey’s: Last Night’s Date

Admit it, my dear (12) followers; you knew I’d be recapping my date from last night here.  I’ll start it off like this: We were scheduled to meet at a restaurant out in midtown. Traffic was awful and it was raining (when it rains in Atlanta, everyone just stops knowing how to drive…wait people never know how to drive) so we headed off the highway to a just as fancy place owned by the same people of the original restaurant we’re suppose to meet at. I know that was a lot of info. I find the place and go in, and what do you know they won’t seat me without the rest of my party (one person). “Let me see what I can do for you just a second” the host says. I’m thinking “Oh I’m sorry it’s not like I’m ruining you’re night by being here, switching reservations, the place is almost EMPTY and I see waiters walking around, sitting at the bar with nothing to do, but oh it’s all good I’ll wait”.

I’m sitting near the door waiting for him to arrive and everyone that walks in ahead of him I get that nervous feeling and you know that awkward moment when you’re waiting for a blind date and an old man walks in and you think “oh shit”. It’s just not fun. However that wasn’t my date, my date was worse…in walks my date and the first thing I think is “OH NO HE’S SHORT”. He’s short ya’ll. Yep he’s short. Shorter than me and that’s a problem. Second thought is, his picture online is definitely a younger buck of himself. The date goes on boringly. I’m making stupid conversation mostly about stuff no one cares about let alone a stranger and he’s laughing at things that I’m saying that aren’t meant to be funny.

Finally he’s ordered dinner (it only took our waitress 5 visits to our table), and we’ve gotten through dinner and I’m thinking I can go home. Guess again…He wants desert. Not desert from the restaurant, he’s got a craving for yogurt. He’s paid for dinner and asks me if I have cash…because get this even after he tells me I’m going to have to have money to pay for parking (so I went to the bank) he doesn’t have cash and needs to pay valet. He says, “I’ve got dinner, but I just need a couple bucks for parking”. Yeah no problem here's $2. Did I mention he also paid with a coupon? Lucky US there’s a Yoforia down the street and just to avoid feeling like I owe him anything I pay for yogurt. We say our goodbyes and I run off without anything too awkward. Just when I think this is over he calls me. Here’s where I turn into a big asshole and I don’t know why I do this. He asks me if I had fun tonight and if I want to see him again I say yes…What.Is.Wrong.With.ME!?

Conversation with this guy had me thinking he's a bad luck charm. As if I couldn't get anymore OCD and superstitious! He tells me he's tried three times to open his own business. Once his mom was diagnosed with cancer, died :( , once 9/11 and one more time market crash. I tell him please, for humanity, don't do that again. He goes on to tell me he sat next to a guy at church whom he thought was a jerk and 6 months later the guy dies and no one can tell you how...It was a FREAK accident of sorts. Yeah I think it's in my best interest to stay away from this guy.

Sayonara and a Happy Friday

The guy that sits next to me at work (annoyance) has put in his notice (to quit). He apparently got a better “sales” job. He said it’s “more responsibility”. Well good luck cause that means you can’t be on your phone all day, with personal phone calls, yelling at Comcast, yelling at UPS (about your lost lingerie, that actually was shipped FEDEX), saying “fuck”, throwing pencils, walking around chit chatting instead of working, listening to music, actually cold calling and actually show up on time (not 30 minutes late, taking long lunches and leaving whenever you want to – just sayin).

That being said, since he started here he’s never been early let alone on time. He was early this morning. I know this because I’m always early. He’s early because he’s packing up his “personal” items (hope he doesn't forget his bill cosby sweater). Nice to know his priorities are straight.

His initial last day was suppose to be the 8th, that would have been the professional 2 weeks notice, but we’re talking about this guy and he’s not professional so he decided to throw in the towel early and have his last day be today. Hallelujah for me! It’s like I hit the lottery really. I’ve been waiting for this day since he started. Now I feel like an asshole…but they are my feelings. The thing is I’ve had to listen to all his bs personal calls, his yelling, his lack of professionalism, his constant whistling, belching out loud like a college school boy, I pretty much know too much about him, because he talks too much and gives away too much, I’ve wanted to punch myself in the eye, and I’m just over joyed that he’s leaving. I never wished him to get fired, he quit, and he got a better job, allegedly.

So Happy Friday dear readers! And I just want to point out I’ve lost 2 followers. I don’t know what that’s all about, but Sayonara!

My Journey's: Well No Time Like the Present

After a lot of consideration I re-activated my okcupid account. I’ve gone on a total of 2 dates since I rejoined and I’m already about over it, checking it close to never and even setting up a date and forgetting about it…Oopsies. Well he didn’t try to contact me to definite plans anyways, so no harm no foul.

All that being said I have a date tonight. I feel like I’ve been here before. Explaining to you all, my few readers, that I have yet another online date to go on. They never amount to anything. If anything at all a good story (or bad story) in “My Journey’s”. Maybe this one will, or won’t, end up there. It has been a while since I’ve posted anything in that section of my blog.

Wish me luck readers. No matter how hard I try (or how many times I say I won’t) not to get my hopes up, I always do! They always go up just to be dropped down. I’m not being droopy I’m just sayin. Maybe I’ll get a second date…Maybe a third…Maybe I’ll be able to use the sessy unders I bought for more than just myself (I kid I kid) ;) Maybe it will maybe it won’t, but just like my title, no time is like the present. Here’s to it… * cheers *
