My Journey's: Well No Time Like the Present

After a lot of consideration I re-activated my okcupid account. I’ve gone on a total of 2 dates since I rejoined and I’m already about over it, checking it close to never and even setting up a date and forgetting about it…Oopsies. Well he didn’t try to contact me to definite plans anyways, so no harm no foul.

All that being said I have a date tonight. I feel like I’ve been here before. Explaining to you all, my few readers, that I have yet another online date to go on. They never amount to anything. If anything at all a good story (or bad story) in “My Journey’s”. Maybe this one will, or won’t, end up there. It has been a while since I’ve posted anything in that section of my blog. 

Wish me luck readers. No matter how hard I try (or how many times I say I won’t) not to get my hopes up, I always do! They always go up just to be dropped down. I’m not being droopy I’m just sayin. Maybe I’ll get a second date…Maybe a third…Maybe I’ll be able to use the sessy unders I bought for more than just myself (I kid I kid) ;) Maybe it will maybe it won’t, but just like my title, no time is like the present. Zentangle

My aunt signed herself, my sissy and myself up for a Zentangle class this past weekend. I didn’t know what to expect, she said it was a way of art through doodling, which I do all the time. Well I use to all the time like in class, but now I do it when I’m on the phone.

After the class we had my uncle, my cousin, my sister in law, grandmother, mother, grandfather, brother and father guess who’s was whose. My uncle, my grandfather and grandmother were the only ones who got it right *side eye*

The class was lots of fun and if I do say so myself my zentangle was pretty damn good. My plan is to try zentangle for peeps as gifts. A co-worker said she wanted one. It’s apparently a good way to “meditate” or just take time and get out of your head. I think we all need that time.

Work Problems

This newish guy that works next to me has the worst banter on the phone. It’s like listening to nails on a chalkboard. That being said I’ve been listening to my ipod during work, as loud as possible NOT to hear his annoying voice over my music, and still sometimes I can. That’s problem number 1.

Problem number 2, I have a hard time listening to music and NOT singing out loud. I really have to stop myself from belting out lyrics. I’m pretty sure that if you listen close enough you can hear me lip singing lyrics O_o

With that comes problem number 3, listening to my ipod at work I can’t hear people walking by or behind me. This results in me constantly checking around hearing things. AND when the phone rings it interrupts my jam. I know my stomach growls, but I don’t know how loud because I can’t hear it.

CO Shooting Part II

What is all this “alleged” killer stuff I keep reading about the CO shooting? He did it! I read yesterday that CO will most likely drag this whole thing out for a long time. Can we just call him what he is? I know the whole innocent before proven guilty thing, but there is NO alleged about it. He was caught RED HANDED! His home was even booby trapped as a Plan B. The “alleged” thing is offensive to the victim’s families and survivors in my opinion.

This is absolutely disgusting news! A gunman walks into a movie theater and opens fire killing 12 people at The Dark Knight Rises premier in CO. Injuring 50 one being a 6-year-old girl. Just another example of how we suck as a society.

No doubt those 12 people walked into the movie theater just as excited as I was with my family. My brother was like a little kid on Christmas morning. Just to be shot and/or killed dead…WHY? 

My sister kept saying they had that theater “locked down” when we went. They were checking to make sure we didn’t have our cell phones, because you know we might try to record the movie with our cell phones. As if a cell phone has the capability to record a 3-hour movie, let alone be of any good quality.  I’m seriously saddened and disgusted. 

50 Way's to Bite One's Lip

I’ve been reading the recaps of 50 Shades of Gray via the Snark Squad. I don’t feel like I have to read these books, because everyone and their mother have read them. Literally, my mother, my mother’s mother, my aunt, my sister in law and some friends. They’ve all pretty much agreed that the writing is terrible.

Just reading the recaps I keep getting Twilight flashbacks. I think we’ll see a “biting her bottom lip” epidemic. It started with Bella Swan and now Ana (with one “n”) Steele (because Steele and Grey go together like peas and carrots). Seriously these girls are constantly biting their bottom lips and writers are making it out to be something men go crazy over. I’m single; maybe I should start biting my bottom lip.

I guess there’s talk of a movie. Everyone is saying Kristin Stewart and Robert Pattenson. I say we already have Twilight. Give some other actors a chance! After seeing Batman the Dark Knight Rises last night (yeah that’s right I saw it before it officially came out, thanks to my sissy and her “bar” contacts) I see Christian Bale as Christian Grey. It works! I think this is mostly because Ana (with one “n”) Steele (because Steele and Grey go together like carnivals and cotton candy) is always saying “his pants hanging off his hips like they do” and Bale’s pants hang off his hips nicely in The Dark Knight Rises. I now have a clear picture of what that actually means in my head. 

Vs. Bella

I’m kind of sick of seeing things like this. At first I thought it was funny, but now I’ve grown tired of it. Speaking as a fan of all tween pop movies, I can discuss the differences in characters and their overall importance.

First off, there are reasons we love the Twilight series. Edward’s overwhelming since to protect Bella, the woman he loves, vs. his need to eat her, as vampires do, because her scent is so powerful to his nose holes. Edward literally has to stop breathing just to be around Bella. I think Edward gives all women something to want or wish for. Second, if you ask me Bella’s character is more realist of a teenage love. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true.  Maybe a little bit far fetched with the nightmares and screaming and sitting in front of your window for months, but honestly I think we’ve all be there in some shape of form.

Hermione is the smartest wizard of her time. She’s a muggle and she’s the shit!  Hermione was important because without her the others wouldn't of figured anything out. That being said, she literally crushed on Ron for 8 straight long movies. I love the Harry Potter series, but we all knew it was going to happen and they waited till the middle of the final movie. She was always mad at Ron, yelling at Ron and crying over Ron. Yeah when he left she stuck around with Harry and helped save the wizard world, but beyond that she still had her fair share of “girl” moments. 

Ginny, unfortunately she didn't get enough airtime, in my opinion. She proved to be one of the strongest wizards of her time. She also fell in love with her brother's best friend, the "chosen one" Harry. From the very beginning Ginny had a crush on our Harry. That being said, she knew who Harry was and what he had to do. She also knew that he loved her. If he was coming back, he was coming back to her. So yeah, she kept truckin fightin off the death eaters and the dark lord’s army. Lots of wizards ran off scared, but lots stuck around and fought, because there was nothing else to lose.

I never thought I'd say this, but it's true, read the books. It gives you a better understanding of the characters and they're struggles and why they act the way they do. If you have and you still feel the same, well give em a break, they're fictional characters, made up of someone's life experiences.
